I lost my appeal
I am so sorry Julie, but keep your chin up, things have a way of working out in the end.

Julie,
I am so sorry that happened - what is the state of Mass thinking? So much for helping people.
Just a suggestion (and from someone who has been there - I waited over a year and went through numerous appeals) - take a few days to mourn. Let it all out, be depressed, just feel everything. Then, once you are a little calmer and thinking more rationally, start your research on alternatives. I know you want to just give up now, but don't. Keep fighting! I am SO glad I did - it was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through but I'm glad I never gave up, even though I felt like it many times.
Love ya hon and I'm so sorry you have to go through this - it's a horrible thing to experience.
Big Hugs
Pam
Thanks for the support, Pam. I really thought I had a Plan B in place, but the anxiety was still really high. I think I would have handled things much better but the hearing officer was so arrogant and downright rude!! He cut me off during my testimony and told me it wasn't relevant. He didn't want my backup letters for the same reason. In effect he said he had already made up his mind, which does not seem to be an impartial hearing to me. I told him I would be faxing in the documents anyway, for the record and to set up my appeal (it now would go to the Supreme Court). I don't know if I will do that, but he needed to hear I might. Today I faxed everything up, including a letter to him telling him how I felt about his behavior at the hearing. I will probably write to Senators Kennedy and Kerry as well, and maybe get the policy changed for other people. But right now you will see from my other post that I will at least get my surgery. -Julie
