I had a deep tissue massage last night and made the giant mistake of not drinking a lot of water afterwards.  I can hardly move today!  I love deep tissue massages and get one a couple of times a month, but, I also know that they really stir up the stuff in the muscles that must be washed out by water...at the same time, I've been trying to not drink with meals (which is a habit I have fallen back into)  so I didn't drink and then got distracted by phone calls and never really drank anything before bed.  Idiot!!!  I am trying to hydrate now and get moving slowly, then hope to get to the gym.  It is amazing how much pain I have in my gluts and my neck and shoulder where I had her focus. I must exercise, that will help. What have you done to move your body today? Lori

I am having my first bad day today - feeling very drained and maybe drank my Carnation too fast because it came back up minutes later - that was also a first.   I did walk for 30 minutes this morning - 20 of it at a brisker pace than I'd managed so far.   Working on water now and have been pretty listless this afternoon.  Cuddled with the kitten a lot, whether she wanted it or not

Oh Lori -- that sounds painful!  Hope that you will be moving better as the day goes on. I went to the pool this morning for 1 hour of water aerobics.  My legs are sore because we used the kick boards and really worked our legs.

I've been wondering if a deep tissue massage might be beneficial for my legs, but I haven't really pursued it.  I don't have lymphedema, but I do have slighly sluggish lymphatics in the leg that formerly hosted Blobby.  Tell me more about it. I went to the rec center today and did 50 minutes on the in-line skating machine, and even though I had my Ipod blasting away, I was really suffering during my workout.  I overdid it yesterday with cardio and weights and swimming. Tomorrow is just swimming, thank goodness!  I'm pretty sure it won't be very rigorous, either, as I'm taking my sister to the pool, and she hates water, so I can see her getting bored rather quickly. Hi Kix, I just got back from the gym.  I did 40 mins at a fast pace on the treadmill.  Got there 45 mins before the gym closed, so had to go.  I will be going to a Bruce Hornsby Concert at Red Butte Gardens tonight. When I used to have lymphadema is when I first started getting massages.  It does help!  Just make sure that you tell the massage therapist when they work on your lower legs to use upward strokes.  It can be painful, so let them know how you are doing.  I do recommend it highly, but, don't make the mistake I did on Friday.  Go to the massage hydrated, then really drink a whole lot in the next hour after your massage.  You have to wash those toxins out or you will be sick. Hugs, Lori
