Been in meetings all day, couldn't post until now.  I didn't exercise this morning.  I am hoping to go after a meeting I have tonight...risky though...may be too late. But, I got my due when I went to Weigh****chers today (by the way I didn't walk to the meeting as I usually do since it is 104 degrees out.)  I was up 2.8 lbs.  I felt terrible.  For some reason, I have to keep getting slapped upside the head with a weight gain to remind myself that I cannot get away with not doing the right thing every day!!!  I only made it to the gym 3 out of 5 times last week and I ate pretty much what I wanted while my friend was in town.  All I can do is keep on keeping on and do better this week! What did you do to move your body today? Lori

I took it kind of easy today because I was totally pooped last night and didn't want a repeat.  I walked for about 15 minutes this morning and we also walked around Target.  I've been picking up the apartment intermittently to keep my butt from permanently attaching to the couch.  I am still worried about those darn clots so I make a point to move around frequently.   Today was an iffy day foodwise, none of the 4 things I am allowed seems to interest me.

My doc said to walk at least 5 mins every hour to help prevent the clots.  It must of worked for me. In the early days after surgery, food does not interest you.  Be sure to eat and drink the amounts you are supposed to so you don't get dehydrated.  Make sure your protein is at the right amount (I don't know if you are on any protein yet) and keep it that way, you will lose less hair.  (I didn't really lose hair like the other patients, but, I was religious in keeping track of my protein grams with fitday.) Hi Lori I had my first aid/cpr class today, so I didn't make it to the pool this morning.  I did make it to the class tonight. So, 1 hour of water aerobics for me. Thanks,
Jennie

104?!  Please do not send that to Colorado. I'm experimenting with changing up my exercise routine, so instead of swimming and aqua arthritis class, I went to my regular rec center and did 40 minutes of in-line skating machine and then about 30 minutes of strength training. I went a bit later than I usually do, and of course, Hawt Wheelchair Dude was there.  I'm really annoyed that he is so hawt and yet has such terrible political views.  It just isn't fair!    I tried not to watch him too much while I was on the in-line skating machine, and once I got the Ipod started, I pretty much lost myself in my music.  I enjoy my tunes so much that I have to be careful not to burst out in song while I'm exercising.  How hilarious would that be for the others, minding their own business trying to work out when suddenly the old blonde grrl on the in-line skating machine starts yodeling?!   I did notice another hawt dude on the treadmill about five machines over.  Later, when I was huffing and puffing on one of the weight machines, looking all funky and gross, he walked by and smiled.  Whoa!  I couldn't help swooning, especially since I was listening to a Barry White tune on the Ipod.   It's nice to know the old grrl isn't dead yet.  Kix

I did not make it to the gym on Tuesday.  I did, however, spend a few minutes poking around at Dick's Sporting Goods looking at cute workout clothes.  I tried on an XL Nike workout t-shirt and dang it if it didn't fit and look darn good.  Plus, it had half-length sleeves, which was a nice bit of camoflauge for my flabby arms!!!  I was not, however, willing to pay $29.99 for a t-shirt.  Who needs a $30 t-shirt to get sweaty???  That being said, I may check out the Nike Outlet at one of the local outlet malls to see if I can get that shirt for a more reasonable price... Today (Wednesday) back to the gym for 2-a-days (weights at lunch, cardio intervals after work).   Good luck to everyone finding the time and motivation to get movin'!   Kellie

Kellie, I've come to find that the workout clothes that cost money have a ton of wear in them.  I've bought both, the cheapie ones that fall apart after a few washings and the Champion brand, that are still going strong after two years.  Sometimes it is worth it.  Particularly for the pants. Lori
