First Appointment With Surgeon

I'm back from a much needed vacation!  Its was just hubby & me in the mountains in a little cabin near the lake. So peaceful and relaxing!  You may recall I went to my mandatory seminar on July 26th.  They told me it would be Sept. before I got an appt with the MD and winter for surgery! UGH! Anyway, they called me and left a message that they had appointments to schedule for the following week, but when I called them back the next morning, they tried to schedule me for Oct 10th!!  I groaned....Hey you said on my machine you had appts for next week, so she came back on the line and gave me an appt for this Friday 8/17!!  Wooohhoooooooooooo...I am nervous but happy.  I have heard that they then schedule you for 3 further appts with a nutritionist, psychologist, & endocrinologist...all in the same day. Cool!   I can't wait to get a surgery date.  I am in the midst of moving & selling a house so the stress level is high.  Should be moved into my new place by the 10th of Sept....then I will be ready to totally focus on my WLS journey.

AND DO I KNOW ABOUT STRESS WITH SELLING AND MOVING. UGH.. WE DONE THAT YEARS AGO AND IS JUST A GOOD THING WLS WASNT IN MY FUTURE AT THAT TIME. I WAS DEEP DEEP DOWN IN BUCKETS OF CHICKEN FOR SURE THEN WITH ALL THE THINGS THAT GO ON WITH THAT ORDEAL HUH?.. YOU WILL DO GREAT. LET US KNOW HOW IT GOES... HUGS MARGE

Thanks for your reply.  We were in the Loon Lake/Brant Lake area...do you know it?  Funny thing is, with the stress of this house, I am trying my best to eat right and lose a few pounds here and there.  I packed on an additional 35 lbs in the past six months Jan-June over hubby needing to change jobs and get away from the freak he had for a boss. We were both eating like pigs drowning our frustrations left & right.  Now I have the price to pay of getting rid of it AGAIN!  Why do we do this to ourselves over & over again?  Oh well....thank God for the surgery to help us get a handle on control.  Hugs back.....Jeanine

You are absolutely right....the distraction will be awesome...not to mention I will be so busy and active that I may lose more weight...That happened last time we bought a new house too.  Hey...I see your surgery date is right around the corner...how far ahead was your date set from the time you had your inititial meeting with the surgeon???  I just lost 1/2 lb in the past 2 weeks (one was vacation week). I will do better this week!

Yeah but they will reschedule, right???????  That sucks that they got things messed up. You don't need the added stress right now.  A six month supervised diet??? OMG...I hope they don't do that to me!  I did hear something about a 3-4 week Medifast diet I would have to do just prior to surgery. I wouldnt want it extended any longer..Sheesh!  Let us know when you are rescheduled.
