Thanks! I did have the pain ball actually. It probably helped, but the sac you carry it around in was rubbing the back of my neck so I pulled it out Thurs instead of Fri. It wasn't too bad, just kind of freaky - I was numb from the medicine inside it so it didn't hurt.
Estrogen is eeevvviiillll! Best of luck :)

LOL Jo - you are going to give me a big head!
Thanks! Oh my goodness! Are you ready?? Do you have to do anything special today - liquid diet, laxatives? Fun fun.

I'm so happy you are doing so well, and you have such a great attitude about everything! That positive attitude will get you a long way
The emotional rollercoaster can be a bit of a challenge, but simply knowing that it's coming and recognizing it for what it is can be helpful. And, of course, you have us to turn to for support.
Good luck on your continuing journey -

Thanks Kellie! I think my husband is a little scared of a possible emotional roller coaster. I warned him about it and he was like "ok, um, I'll be in the other room if you need me"
Dunny, I've been so busy feeling sorry for myself that I neglected to congratulate you on a successful surgery! Well done! My surgery was like that, too. It went so well that I almost forgot I'd had surgery -- I've had root canals that were worse than lap WLS.
This might gross you out, but something that I found very sustaining when I graduated to soft foods was a serving of Cream of Wheat (made with enough milk so it's smooth and not like oatmeal) with a bit of shredded cheddar cheese mixed in. It tasted (to me, anyway) almost like grits, and was very filling. It also satisfied my cheese craving (nothing new for me, I've always craved cheese. I must have been a mouse in a previous lifetime).
I lived on this, along with Instone pudding, cottage cheese, an occasional bit of pureed tuna
(
) and Unjury protein powder blender shakes.

Hi Kix, Thanks! Why feeling sorry for yourself? I'd wondered where you went, I always look forward to reading your posts. I was hoping nothing bad had happened to you or a family member or anything!
I made my 3-week follow-up appt today and it won't be until the 30th, so that'll be 4 extra days on full liquid. Blech. We don't really have a pureed soft-foods stage, just start soft regular foods at that point, but I think at week 3 I'm going to ask the nut about adding cream of wheat or something. Actually, with cheese doesn't sound too bad.
Today has been easy though, no cravings at all. I'm so not hungry today, its been a struggle to make myself have a shake and some jello. Pureed tuna did not help matters either! EEEEEEWWWW
I hope you feel better soon *hugs*
Aaw bless your heart...you go girl! Your post was exactly what I needed to hear. I was worried about post op pain and being sleepy all the time the first month. It sounds like you are doing great. I am very happy for you. Movies & shopping 6 days post op??? Holy Moly...you should be proud. Take care of yourself and keep us updated. Hugs

Well, Thanks! Today makes day 11 and I have to say I am still taking it pretty easy. I don't want to overdo it, but I feel really good and no pain. I do get tired in the heat, and its a little hard to make myself eat sometimes, BUT, overall in my opinion, its been much easier than expected. Best of luck! *hugs*
Congrats Dunny, on a successful "kick-off!" I developed a taste during that full liquid phase for soup (it was December) and still crave Panera broccoli cheese soup and Red Lobster clam chowder (I lived on both for about 6 months I think!) Hopefully the weather will cooperate and you can do a few outdoor laps soon.
