Gym Is Open (Friday)
Hi, Lori. I lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch. Haven't decided about going back for cardio at the end of the day. I know I should, but it's Friday and it's a nice sunny day, just beckoning me to come play. We'll see what happens... But regardless, I got in a good weight training session today!
Have a great weekend -

I bought myself an Ipod Shuffle, downloaded some music, and took it to the rec center today. It made my exercise much more enjoyable, listening to the music I like and not the blather on the rec center's TVs. I had to be careful not to sing along with the music (didn't want to frighten the senior citizens!
I did an hour of in-line skating machine. No pool today, and probably no pool this weekend, either. I noticed an owie on my leg (I think the dog scratched me yesterday, or else I pulled the skin), so I don't want to tempt Fate by dousing it in pool water until it heals.
While I was exercising, I caught myself watching and admiring from afar Hot Wheelchair Dude, who was looking particularly fine today. Sigh! If only his politics weren't totally on the other end of the spectrum from mine. There's just no way it could possibly work.

My husband bought me a new IPOD as a surgery gift - our (very) old one was finally crapping out. I can't wait to use it while I workout! I am gonna get an armband or something and wear on it my wrist while I exercise. Nothing better than being able to pick your own music!
Hi Lori,
I sat in the sauna for 15 minutes. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I tried to do the stairmaster. It kicked my butt. I was only able to do 5 minutes. .Never again...LOL I did 100 crunches and two leg machines.
Hubby didn't want to go but I went without him.
Have a good weekend.

Today was my hike day and it turned out to be quite different than what i thought it would be! I was planning on doing a 9 mile hike by Mt Evans but I couldn't find the trailhead, so I had to figure something else out.
I ended up doing 3 different hikes for a total of 9 miles. The first 2 miles were at the trailhead for Mt. Bierstadt, which is the 14'er I am planning to hike at the end of the month. It was BEAUTIFUL and nice and cool, but about a mile in I had to cross a creek that was running very high and I didn't feel comfortable crossing it alone, so I decided to head back. i can't wait to try the entire thing!
Then I decided to hit part of the trail I did last week - I didn't want to do the whole thing since it was so late in the day. So I did 4 miles of that hike.
Then, I went to a park to check out their trails for a future group hike and did 3 miles there. Actually, it was 2 miles hiking and 1 mile running - I saw a snake on the trail and completely freaked out, turned around and ran straight to my car! Have I mentioned that I hate snakes? Really terrified by them, almost in an unhealthy way. That's why I like to hike at high altitudes - snakes don't like it up there! I can handle bears, mountain lions, etc but {{shiver}} snakes just are too much!
At least I found a good trail for the hike - I'll just let someone else lead it!
I'm headed to Colorado Springs for the week, so I won't be around. I'm hoping to at least get in some good walks while I'm there.
