Gym Is Open (Wednesday)
Will be doing my gym time again after work tonight. These early morning meetings wreak havoc with my schedule. I so prefer working out in the mornings. Not that I like getting up early, I just like getting it out of my way!
Tonight is my little version of a triathlon of cardio. 15 mins treadmill, 15 mins eliptical 15 mins of recumbant bike, then 15 mins of abs.
What did you do to move your body today?
Lori
I'm the same way with morning workouts, it just starts my day off right.
I've been doing the same as you, a "little version of a triathlon of cardio" (I LOVE that title!) I did 27 on the elliptical, 20 on the treadmill and then I did 13 minutes on the stairmaster - I haven't done the stairmaster since college and I was pretty pleased that it didn't completely wear me out! I think I'll be adding it more often, it was a good workout for my legs. I also did the whole interval training on all but the stairmaster - it's actually getting a little easier.
I think this interval training is really working - I feel like I've hit a new level in my workouts.
Welcome to Wednesday, Lori. I went to the gym at lunch today and lifted weights for upper and lower body, except I skipped the leg press today. I have full compression of the cartilage in my right knee, and it's been sore for a couple days. I think I overworked it last week, so I'm trying to take it easy for a few days so it can recover.
I'm planning to ride my recumbent bike at home tonight for an hour or so while I read the new Harry Potter book. The bike is the easiest on my knee, although it's almost impossible for me to get my heart rate "in the zone" on the bike. But I'm operating under the "something is better than nothing" theory until the knee feels better.
Have a great afternoon/evening!

I've been slacking on the workouts lately, but I did walk for 30 this morning.
As ordered, I changed up my routine today.
I went to the rec center and did 30 minutes of in-line skating machine, part of it at level 3, part at level 2, and part at level 1.
I then went to the other rec center and took an Aqua Arthritis class for 40 minutes. This rec center has a warm water therapy pool, which is small, but it did the trick. I had a lot of fun, and the class was surprisingly hard, even though the exercises didn't seem difficult. I liked the instructor. I stayed after class for about 10 minutes and did some walking and some short swimming strokes.
I am sore and tired now, but it was fun! More pool, please!
