1ST AND LAST PS CONSULT....

HEY YALL.         I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE SUCH AN EASY PUSH OVER WHEN IT CAME TO PLASTIC SURGERY BUT TODAY I SURE WAS. I WENT FOR THE FIRST CONSULT TODAY AND I WAS SOLD. IT IS ALL ABOUT HOW THE OVERALL PIC MAKES YOU FEEL YOU KNOW? I FELT SO COMFORTABLE AND AT EASE AND EVERYONE FROM THE STAFF TO THE DR WAS AMAZING. I WASNT OVERBLOWN BY HIS OFFICE. JUST YOUR RUN OF THE MILL OFFICE AND WAS NICE AND ALL. THEN WENT TO THE WINDOW AND THIS BRIGHT SMILED GIRL/BARBIE WAITED ON ME LOL.. NEEDED SUNSHADES HER TEETH WERE SO BLEACHED LOL.. AT FIRST WAS A LIL OVERWHELMED THINKING I WAS OVER MY HEAD SITTING HERE WITH ALL THE HOOTIE LOOKING PEOPLE. WELL I WENT BACK AND THERE HE WAS... THIS AMAZING UNREAL MAN... YUP GIRLS..... HUNKA HUNKA YOUNG MAN LOL... MY GIRLS ARE STILL LAUGHING ABOUT THIS... BUT ALONG WITH LOOKS CAME THE NICEST AND TIME GIVING PERSON. VERY SENSITIVE TO THE FACT THAT I AM ***** PICTURING IT FOR HIM...LOL I DIDNT WEAR ONE OF THOSE PANTY DEALS BECAUSE I HAD TOLD HIM JUST HOW BAD THE VAGINA/MONS AREA WAS TILL JUST LET HIM SEE ALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY HE HAS SEEN UP CLOSE THINGS MY HUBBY OF NEARLY 30 YRS AINT SEEN LOL.... MADE YA WANT TO SMOKE A CIG LOL... THEN WE TALKED AND I ASKED 100 QUESTIONS AND WE DECIDED ON A TUMMY TUCK WITH BREAST LIFT. BUT HE DOESNT WANT TO DO IT AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE MY STOMACH IS SO BAD AND HE SAID WANTED TO DEVOTE TIME TO FIXING THE TUMMY AREA AND THE MONS AREA AND HOPEFULLY WILL PICK UP THE INNER THIGHS SOME. SO HEY I WAS  LIKE OK WITH ME... THEN WE TALKED ABOUT THE BOOBIES... HE SAID I DIDNT NEED A REDUCTION BUT JUST A LIFT. HE SAID THERE WAS ENOUGH VOLUME THERE BUT LIKE I TOLD HIM IT WAS JUST ALL SITTING AND SWINGING ON THE FLOOR LOL... SO AFTER THE ***** DEAL WE TALKED AND HE IS FAXING THE PAPERWORK TO MY INS TOMMORROW. I HAVE TO CALL MY PCP FIRST THING IN THE MORNING SO SHE CAN FAX MED DOCUMENTS  WHERE I HAVE BEEN GOING TO HER FOR RASHES AND ALL... SO NOW ILL WAIT. I HAVE TO SAY I WISH EVERYONE COULD BE AS THRILLD AS I WAS WHEN I LEFT THE DR. I FELT AT PEACE THAT HE WAS THE ONE. I AM GONNA CANCEL THE OTHER CONSULTS ALSO TOMMORROW. AND GET THIS... NO OUT OF POCKET AHEAD OF SURGERY FOR ME.. MAN I WAS SWEATING THAT ONE WITH MY DAUGHTER JUST GETTING MARRIED AND ALL... SO JUST PUT ICING ON THE CAKE..... WILL LET YA KNOW WHEN I GET NEWS FROM INS... IF DONT GET APPROVED IT WAS MENT TO BE BUT CANT SAY I WONT BE BUMMED OUT.   HUGS MARGE

You and your sense of humor, you had me laughing hard! I wish there was one of those smileys with them smoking - that would of fit your post perfect! And, before I forget to mention it, CONGRATS! Well, my mons is currently hovering around my knees, so I totally relate!  I was looking at myself in a long mirror the other day in all my nakedidity, and I think I'm about two sizes smaller under all this skin (well, except in the thighs, I'm still working on losing fat there). Plastic surgery isn't even a dream yet, but I see something is going to have to be done down the road. Did he give you realistic expectations as to results?  I look at all my skin and cannot imagine how someone could take it all and turn it back into a human body!  Especially at my age *cough* turning 50 this year *cough* I'm glad your consult went well, and that you feel comfortable with the doctor.  And hooray for having such good insurance!  Kix

Dear Kix, I just wanted to respond to your comment about realistic expectations.  You are so right--even with plastic surgery, we can't turn ourselves into the body beautifuls we see on tv.  I've had a breast reduction, arm lift, and now a tummy tuck.  Everything is still a bit wonky and definitely not bikini ready.  (And I won't even mention the legs that are a hopeless cause.)  But with that said, the improvement is huge--especially when dressed.  I can't expect to look like someone who was never overweight.  I was huge for such a long time and now my body shows it in just a different way.  I am thrilled with the results I've had, but I do keep in mind what I started out looking like.  That is my comparison point, not some model figure. I am SO pleased for you, Marge!  It's delightful when you find a physician that you are comfortable with; it can make such a difference in your experience.  I can only hope to be so lucky when my time for PS comes.  Keep us posted on your efforts with this phase of your journey. Kellie

Marge, I'm so excited for you!  I've done my consult and I have now done an MRI.  The whole thing is complicated by my breast cancer history, but, I really feel the time is right for me as well.  I'm waiting to meet with my surgeon again to do the planning.  I won't only have one surgery either and I still don't know how and what insurance will pay for. I think since I've lost slower and less I don't have quite the skin issues as most, but, I really really need the breasts and stomach done.  It is hurting my back!  My legs sure need it, but, I don't see me doing it as it doesn't affect my quality of life, just my looks. Marge OMG...I thought the same thing after my first PS consult yesterday I'm still going to keep my other consult appointment but my "GUT" is telling me this PS is the ONE I'm also awaiting insurance approval for my tummy...but I'm going to "treat" myself and get my arms done at the same time...I'm still in a state of disbelief that this is actually happening...WOW I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that BOTH of us get insurance approval. Either way...my surgery date is September 10 and I'm going to do it!!! Tanya
