A woman's question
Mine stopped for a year when I hit 500 lbs, and stayed stopped as I creeped toward 600 lbs. I lost a small amount of weight before considering WLS, and the minute I did, they came back sporadically.
Post WLS, I had a period two weeks after surgery, and another period two weeks later, then my body developed its own rhythm of every 30-45 days. Then I had Blobby removed last April, and had a period two weeks after surgery, and then none since then! Maybe my body has decided to start being menopausal.
I did feel very mean and hateful the other day, so I could be getting ready to have a period any minute now.

I am 48 and my doc took a blood test called a FSH level this determines if you are close to menapause or not.
My doc told me if the levels are 40 or higher you are in menapause.
My level was 9 so it looks to me menapause maybe a long way off.
When I was 600lbs and I lost 25lbs my periods came on like gang busters and continued to be regular as clock work.
This past 3 years I have gain a little weight or have been stuck not loosing but I am loosing again and my old friend PERIOD has returned.
Birth control will be a must after surgery for me my husband and I have decided that at 48 it would not be a good thing to get pregnant.
