Gym Is Open (Wednesday)
Well, some of you may have heard on the news that we are having a giant fire here in Utah. The air has become very toxic to breathe. Working out is strictly prohibted outside at this time. But, I have to tell you that even the air quality in the gym is not very good. When you have smoky air to breathe it is very hard on you. I just did 20 minutes on the track and 10 min abs and 10 mins stretching today. We need rain so bad! So strange how the south is drowning in floods and we are burning up (literally) here.
What did you do to move your body today?
Lori
Coming from Northern California, where "fire" is one of the four seasons, and with the Oakland fire still fresh in my mind after all these years, I have been watching the Utah fire with great sadness. If there is a positive spot in all of this, the burned areas will be wonderful when they renew years from now. Of course, the important thing right now is for the fire to stop!
Are you wearing a mask when you go outside? Even if you are, I'll bet it doesn't help with the stinging eyes.
I went to the rec center and did 40 minutes of in-line skating machine, and 30 minutes of weight machines (10 reps @ 30 lbs, except for one of the knee machines, where I did 5 reps at 10 lbs).
Today felt like Supplemental Oxygen Day at the rec center, seemed like everyone there was using portable O2 tanks!

Kix,
I have seen people with masks. I have yet to wear one, but, I'm about ready to. My eyes are burning right now and I haven't been outside all day! One of my cats is mostly white with big orange patches. So you can see her eye matter easily. I'm always cleaning her eyes. Well, since the smoky air, the accumulation of gunk and the color has turned quite nasty. She is very sensitive to smoke like me. I think I'd have a very hard time getting her to wear a face mask!

The news about the fire is very sad - I hope you and your kitties hold up okay in the smoke. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Today was a 2-a-day for me at the gym. Lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch. Getting ready to go back to the gym for an hour of cardio now. Watch out sweat, here I come!

Aww poor Lori and kitties! I wish I could send some rain your way.
I haven't done any workout today, but we were talking about doing some laps at the apartment pool later this evening and I'm down for that! I worked from home today because our AC stops working sometimes and its too hot for the cats if I don't get it running again ( and I was waiting for the repair guy). I've been reclined out with the laptop all day so a swim would be a nice change.
Hi Lori,
I did 15 minutes in the sauna, 22 on the treadmill and 15 on the elliptical trainer. I also did different machines for 10 minutes and 100 crunches.
Baby Cody is doing well. Thanks for asking. He just turned three months. He's so cute and we love it when he smiles and coo's. Mommy is soooooo ready for him to sleep all night long. These 2am
feedings are so hard day after day. Daddy's job is to get him to sleep so I go to bed while he works on that. If he wakes up twice in a night...daddy gets up the second time. (like the past two nights)
We love our little baby. I need to post some new pics.
(((hugs))))
