Someone from the surgeon's office called this evening and when I said hello, she said it was a bad connection and would call me back.  So then a minute later I had a voicemail, but my phone never rang.  The voicemail was completely garbled but there was something in there about "approval" and she sounded chipper but I don't know who it was or anything.  I tried calling back, got the main hospital switchboard and then a voicemail for a secretary.  I left a message... waited by the phone for the next half hour, then tried calling the direct lines to the secretaries... all of them were voicemail, except for one who maybe picked up but the connection immediately cut out.  I am assuming that's who called, so I e-mailed her but I am going to wonder about this all night.  Did my approval come through?  Do they need something else?  Did my approval fall through?  What is the news??  AAAAHHHHH!  I am super frustrated!

Its a little far to just drop by but I called again just now and left a message, and I listened to the garbled message again several times this morning.  I finally made out that I do have approval and that I am supposed to call about scheduling a surgery date!!!  I just can't tell WHO called me.  Agh.  Hopefully I'll have a surgery date within the next few hours!  I expected to sleep really bad last night because I also have a big meeting today do discuss whether I will have funding, i.e. a paycheck, for the last year of my PhD.  Actually, I slept like the dead.  It was even the first night I actually managed to keep the CPAP on all night!  I think I was so worked up all evening about both things that when bedtime came my body said "shut up brain" and passed out.  I feel pretty rested after a night with the CPAP so I'm not as skeptical about it now.
