Gym Is Open (Weekend)
It's pretty hot here, too. In fact, while I was out in the sun today, my purse got so hot that my Costco card and my rec center card (both of which I keep in an outer zipper pocket) melted a bit and are now wonky. I'll have to set them in the sun and then press them in a heavy book to get them back into shape, otherwise, the Costco card won't work at the Costco gas pump.
Anyway, I went to the rec center and did 30 minutes of in-line skating machine and a circuit of the weight machines (10 reps @ 10 lbs). Some of those seniors lift over 70 lbs, I don't know how they do it. 10 lbs feels like I'm lifting a Honda.
I spent part of the day at Clear Creek Park not far from my house. Lots of people were there kayaking, floating or tubing down the creek, and it looked like so much fun! I wanted to join them, but I'm not able to yet. Maybe next summer. I read a book and got plenty of Vitamin D from the sun.
Later this evening, I took the dogs for a short walk at the park. There was a brat there chasing and yelling at the geese, with his grandmother jus****ching and not scolding him at all. I was tempted to chase him and yell at his sorry brat ass, but I didn't want to get into it with gramma. Why on earth didn't she reprimand him?
My gramma wasn't shy about wearing out my backside with a wooden spoon when it was necessary. Stupid kid.
I'm not sure what's happening tomorrow, it depends on my mood. I will most likely go to the rec center and do my usual exercise, and then I'm thinking about cleaning out a bunch of stuff while my sibling is cruising in Alaska. It's a good time to get rid of stuff!
Kix

I did my 30 min. walk this morning at 6:30 am. I work 3rd shift and get off at 6 am. On Monday I will be doing my walks for 3 weeks and haven't missed a day. I have lost 11 lbs. since starting. I keep telling myself I can take a day off but I have been looking forward to walking because it's something I do for myself. Have a great weekend, Cindy.
It's too hot here too - I'm suppose to go on a hike tuesday with the hiking group I joined but it's suppose to be 97, so I'm thinking it might be a kind of miserable hike - ugh, I hate the heat.
Well, I had an adventure Saturday (I'm going to tell my story ala Kix - she always has these interesting adventures!) I went to REI (an outdoor equipment type of store) for their big garage sale - I was hoping to pick up some trekking poles for hiking. So, I decided to take the train then walk a couple of miles to the store for my exercise. I got to the store and joined the many hundreds of others waiting in line. After waiting 2 hours I finally got in to the room, only to find that these two guys had taken every trekking pole for themselves - they had over 50 of them!! I was hacked off and told them so (I was kind of tired from standing that long and was in a bad mood, so they got the brunt of my mood). I mean, who needs 50 trekking polls???!!!
I ended up going to the main store and paying full price for a pair, then spending too much money on other stuff. I headed back to the train, but by then it was so damn hot I thought I would melt - I know I lost at least 5 pounds just from sweating! On top of that I had a blister from my hike the day before, so I was in a bit of pain.
I got in a few miles but I don't feel like I did anything but get heat stroke.
Sunday I did a good workout, 27 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the bike. It was inside and cool, so i was happy
