Annie, Don't spend much money.  They are going to get messed up.  This is a messy surgery with the drains and all.  I would suggest getting a robe only.  Leak on the hospital's stuff. Lori

I don't plan on bringing nightgowns with me when I have my surgery.  I am going to use the hospital gowns.  I do plan on bringing my own robe for when I walk the hallways.  The reason I am going to use the hospital gowns is because of the IV and for drainage.  I didn't want to ruin my nightgowns.

Annie, I have a 4x robe upstairs that's too big for me now.  It's yellow, short sleeve, terry cloth with some kind of flower on the shoulder/chest area.  I wore it probably 3 times.  If you want it, I'll bring it tomorrow morning. Take care. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

That would be great Ellen. I have read what everyone has said about buying new gowns and  I should use the hospitals. Sometimes I have a problem with the sleeves I have bat wings already from the first 300lbs that is gone. So I think just a robe will really be all I need. To sleep I mostly wear panties and a camasole which I dont have to worry about the sleeves.                                                  Annie Thanks Ellen sound good to me

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Just a thought, but while you are in the hospital you will have IV's and those are best handled wearing the gowns furnished by the hospital (they have snaps making it easy to go over the tubing).  I plan on wearing those and another on backwards as a robe.  I really do not want to spend one more cent on clothes until I'm on the loser's bench.  Good luck on your surgery.
