I GOT MY DATE AND A NEW BIRTHDAY
I am dancing all over the place and grinning so hard my cheecks hurt!! I am one week away from my last weigh-in of the 6-stupidvised diet months, and was walking out of my PCP's office from getting my blood drawn for the surgeon's office when I get a message on my cell that they have a date for me. I called back right away and the date is 9/11, my BIRTHDAY!!!! This is so cool, in so many way. Not only will this ease the bad memories I associate with that date for the obvious reason, but it will give me a re-birth to change the negative connotation that that date has always had for me before 9/11/01. To make it even more special, my wonderful surgeon was caring enough to have caught this and understood the significance when I tossed it to her casually as an after-thought when I was checking out of my consult. I did not expect to hear about a date so soon. Funny that it came to me today, on my estranged sister's 50th birthday. What a universe. 
I'm doin' my dance..... I can't sit still.....

Lynn What a wonderful surprise! That is so exciting, you can now see some light at the end of the tunnel! Your surgery day is 2 days before my one year anniversary, mine was 9/13. And my birthday is the 18th, so it sounds like we are both Virgos! Only one week apart.

Congratulations! I firmly believe in karma, so I think this date was chosen for you so you could have newer, happy memories around your birthday. 
My surgery date fell on my sibling's former wedding anniversary, so when I told everyone the date, there were a lot of gnashing teeth in our family. Through surgery, I've turned a date with a bad association for our family into one with a happy association.
I'm really excited for you, but I had a long day and I'm too tired to dance. Is it okay if I 
in an enthusiastic manner?

. I had a tough lesson last night about what I have read here about friends and support systems not really understanding the importance of our steps and progress and it really hurt. I had made 30 second calls to my three best friends all of whom were at work to tell them the news yesterday morning, and thought they each would've called after work to talk more. Especially since they have asked repeatedly about when I was having the surgery. But I got only one. The one who called did so during a tv show all excited to see if I was watching and to find out who my favorite performer was so far, then wanted to get right off because the commercial was over. Bummer big time
