Gym Is Open (Weekend)

Trying to post again..if it shows up twice I'm sorry It is very hot today.  I just took a short 10 min walk and decided it is a swimming pool day instead.  It is going to get to 100 degrees. What did you do to move your body this weekend? Lori

Hi Lori! It's HOT here too - gone are the mild days of last month. I went to the aquafit class with my son for 1 hour of water aerobics.  My son, Mark, had never been before, and he was sure that it couldn't be that hard since most of the people were in there 40's and up.  He was worn out when he was finished - he is 23.  He wants to join the Y -- this from the kid who NEVER wanted to be physically active or exercise.

The boards are slow tonight! It's also very hot here in Colorado.  I went to the rec center at 9:30 this morning and the pool was already packed with people.  The cardio room was pretty active, too.  I had to wait to get a treadmill.  I did 20 minutes of armbike at level 5 and 10 minutes of treadmill.  I noticed a bruise on my hand, I must have bumped it on the armbike.  Also, my left knee seems to be a bit sore today.  I'm just falling to bits, I guess!  It's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow (ugh!), so I don't think I'll take the dogs out for a walk in the park.  The heat might be too much for the shih-tzu.  I'll go to the rec center tomorrow and just do armbike to give my knee a rest.  I'll be glad when I can hang out in the pool! Kix, Sometimes I think my body is falling to bits too.  I seem to have a new ache or pain nearly every week.  This week, my other elbow is starting to feel like it is getting tennis elbow!!!  Arrgh! Back to the pool for some laps for me today.  It is the only respite from this heat! Lori

Saturday morning I worked my upper body out hard and started a new routine with free weights to change things up (ooooh, gosh I'm so sore today).  Then I did 18  min treadmill on different speeds, 25 min on elliptical on "hills" and 10 on the bike to cool down.  It wasn't too bad here yesterday heatwise - I worked out in the yard for a while trimming bushes/trees and chores around the house. Today is supposed to be HOT.  So, I got up and walked around the neighborhood for 45 minutes while it was quiet.  I'll go to my Mom's pool later and spend some time with my Dad.

Hi Lori,   It is hot here too. And if we dont get some ran soon. I am afraid the corn, wheat, and anything else is going to suffer this yr.   another week of this dry weather and a lot of crops will be ruined.  I have been watering out garden every nite. Does that count as exercise? Anyway thought I would drop in and let you know how I am doing. I ride our bike ( I ride it, my husband claims it.)  at least three to four miles everyday. I try to do that twice. but dont get it done twice everyday like every third day. I have also been trying to walk three times a week too.
