Hi Guys, Well, I got on the scale this morning after nearly 1 month of not weighing myself....it was not pretty.  Gees, this is so frustrating.  I was up 7 lbs.   I can't believe it.  I think it is the constant vigilence that maintaining weightloss requires, not only losing it that is so flipping hard.  I feel like crying and eating.  Both of which will do me no good at all. I kicked butt at the gym this morning.  I did 40 mins on the track as fast as I possibly could 20 min of upper body strength training.  I have another at least 1 hour walk tonight and I'm going to try and write down everything I eat today. What did you do to move your body today? Lori

Hey Lori, I'm sorry you are frustrated and I can totally relate. I am busting my a$$ and I have been just maintaining for one and half months. I guess I'll never be able to let up and I'm scared of what more I have to do to actually start losing again. *sigh* For today: 53 min. on treadmill 30 min. on elliptical WT on abs and legs I'm also about to walk up to the post office, that's almost a mile round trip. Plus it's 90 degrees and humid, maybe I'll sweat off a little weight, haha.

Hi Lori - Sorry about the weight fluctuation.  I know that I'm up almost 2 lbs from Monday, and I have NO idea why except that it might be period related, but I usually don't gain or bloat.  I've heard others speak of the diligence that is required to keep it off, and I can see from day to day what that must be like. How was your vacation? Today, I did my hour at the pool, and I'm hoping that I can make it back tonight for another hour.  We will see!

Hi Lori,  Sorry to hear abour your frustration.  Great job working out!  Your vigilence will pay off.  Best of luck As far as exercise, I rode my recumbent exercise bike for 30 min this morning - then had a hellishly long day at work.  Since I've gotten home I haven't moved.  Every muscle in my body is pooped, and somehow my feet are killing me, even though I just sit at a desk.  I must have had some seriously tensed up muscles today.   *Wrung out* Jenn

I had planned to make two trips to the rec center today, and was almost out the door before I remembered that oxygen dude was coming some time today to fill my big tank (the one that stores the oxygen I use when I leave the house), so I had to wait for him to show up.  He did not get here until 2 PM, and by then, I figured I'd wait until my sibling came home at 4 PM. Well, my sibling didn't get home until 6:30!  She was in an evil mood, too.    I guess she had a bad day at work, but there was no talking to her about it since she was silent and grumpy.  We did go to the rec center, and I had an excellent workout.  I did 10 minutes of treadmill, 20 minutes of armbike, and 10 reps each (set at 10 lbs) on four different weight machines that work arm muscles.   On one of those machines, the reps were quite interesting.  I found some new muscles using that one, and I'm pretty sure I'll feel it tomorrow.  It's the machine that works the chest muscles near the boobal area.  I don't expect it to firm up my boobs -- they are so far gone, it will just build up muscle and then I'll have muscle boobs on top and regular boobs that hang like stretched out socks.  Kix

Hiya, Lori.  Sorry about your frustration with the scale.  I think your description of "constant vigilance" is totally accurate.  It's unfortunate, but that's the way it is.  For me, it's too easy to slip back into old grazing habits, plus too many carbs at meal time.  So at 18+ months out, I'm still tracking everything I eat and weighing myself every day.  Right now, I feel like if I stop doing those two things, my weight would start to creep back up.  But by holding myself accountable on a daily basis, I stay on track.   Great job to you on your exercise, though!  I've been slack this week because I've been swamped at work (have had a couple 10-11 hour days at the office).  I haven't made it to the gym at all, but I have ridden my bike a couple times.  Although I love riding my bike, it's not a very good workout (burns around 100 calories for 45 minute ride, when I can burn about 450 calories in the same time on the elliptical!).  But the bike riding is good for my spirit and I enjoy being outdoors, so I'll keep doing it!  I'm hoping to make it to the gym on Friday - I could use a good sweatin' session!  Kellie
