Jacie, super workout sounds like an accurate description!  You must have muscles of steel!  I'm envious.  Kix

Thanks kix! I am lucky to have a good muscle base, now if only it didn't weigh more than fat, lol!! I am envious of you and being able to do that arm bike for 20 min, I can barely handle 5 min on that thing. Take care!

Free weights for 30 min on chest, back, shoulders, biceps, & triceps.  25 min elliptical and 10 min stationary bike on "hills" setting. Tonite will walk with a friend on a trail through a park for about 40 min.

I've been to Wilmington, it's a lovely city.  I'lll bet it's really nice to walk on some of the trails around there.  As I recall, though, you have mosquitos and other assorted critters that like to munch on folks, so be sure to wear your insect repellent. Kix

Yes, we have a couple of good parks with some trails that go through them.  I am still discovering them though since my "new found" increase in activity. Oh boy, do the little critters love to munch!!!  Skin So Soft is my best friend. And by the way, I LOVE to read your posts - they crack me up!!!!

I pulled out my Jane Fonda tape and did 50 minutes of aerobics. I certainly didn't want to, but I did it. Can ya tell I'm not very motivated? I'm still moving, just having a hard time having fun. At least the aerobics is fun and gets me dancing. But no hikes for a couple of weeks, and probably not until dad is better. Any ideas on how to deal with 'exercising lulls'? I keep pushing myself to move and I'm hoping this blase' feeling goes away. How do you all deal with those down periods? (I know it's probably just due to dad and my layoff and other stresses, but I would love to hear suggestions).

Well, as your angel, I'm glad you weren't out hiking today!  Between the fellow they had to carry down Clear Creek Canyon on a stretcher, and the dude who was buried in mud over in Franktown (or was it Castle Rock?), it's good to hear you're doing aerobics and not mountain climbing! I have exercising lulls, too, and what works for me is just to change up the routine.  Some days, I'll do all armbike.  Some days, I do armbike and treadmill (don't tell my PS, I'm not cleared for that yet). Other days, I just do treadmill and then take a short walk in the sun while I'm waiting for my sibling to finish her routine. Have you thought about getting a rec center membership for a short time?  At our rec center, the different classes are included in the general admission fee, and they have all sorts of things like pilates, aerobics, strength training, yoga, etc.  That might help you keep things interesting. Hi, PJ.  When I'm in a lull with my regular routine, I try to do somethings I find fun, even if they aren't the best forms of exercise.  For me, that's often a quick walk outside at lunch or in the park after work.  I also like to ride my bike, just around my neighborhood.  While those things don't get my heart rate up and keep it up in my desired range, it is some exercise and it's good for my spirit (being outside, seeing other folks walking, kids playing, sun shining, etc., makes me feel better).  I always wind up back at the gym eventually...   I did this yesterday - I was at wor****il 7:00 p.m. or so, and just couldn't face another hour indoors at the gym.  So I rode my bike for 45 minutes when I got home.  It was some exercise, plus it helped me wind down from the day.   Good luck finding a way to deal with your exercise lull.  And I'm keeping you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers -  Kellie
