Do any of you know where I can purchase some scales that will weigh someone around 450 and over? Thank you!

I have a Siltec scale that weighs up to 1000 lbs, but it cost me $300.  I bought it when I weighed over 500 lbs.  It's a scale used for shipping, so it has a larger platform than a typical scale.  Their 500-lb version is probably around $150. There are less expensive scales that go up to 500 lbs, and I read about them on OH's Main Board a while ago, but I can't remember the model number.  If you post to the Main Board, I'll bet you'll get some suggestions.  If you feel shy about asking, let me know and I'd be happy to post a query for you (I'm not shy about asking anything, as my family would be quick to tell you!  ) Kix

Bobbie, This may be a stupid suggestion but here it goes.  I weighed 456 at surgery and wasn't going to spend an arm and a leg for a scale.  I had the surgery and then went to Amazon and searched our scales that went to 400 lbs.  Within a month of my surgery I was using the scale.  I think I paid about $35.00 for it. Good luck to you.   Jeanne

I have read on OH that if you weigh on two scales, one under each foot and total the weights, it will be accurate.  Good luck in your journey.  Loris

Ladies, thanks for all the suggestions.  See, I may have to do the 6 month supervised diet before medicaid will approve me. I've done this once, but it all got lost. Even though my doctor has documentation, it's over a year old. So we'll see.  But there are no scales locally that will weigh me unless I go to our local hospital's basement.  Well I used to work at that hospital and I know alot of people there. It will be humiliating if I have to. Kix, thanks for offering to help me. Your too sweet!! If I find out for sure then I will definitely post on the main forum.  Thanks for all the suggestions. I will keep you posted.
