An Exhausting week
Hey guys,
Could I get some prayers from all of you? (or good thoughts, or whatever your spiritual affiliation allows
) My dad had heart surgery Monday and had some major complications. We almost lost him but he somehow pulled through. He is still in ICU but was taken off the ventilator today, for which we are thankful. But he is still having problems breathing and isn't waking up. My mom and I are pretty tired, we have spent every waking hour at the hospital and it can really wear on you. I just want my dad back to normal.
Thanks guys - I've missed coming and keeping up with everyone. If feels nice to just sit down and read all your posts.
Love ya all,
Pam

HEY PJ,
HANG IN THERE OK? PRAYERS COMING YOUR WAY..... ALSO TRY TO KEEP DOING WHAT YOU CAN TO GET THAT PROTEIN AND LIQUIDS IN. I KNOW FIRST HAND AFTER MY FOSTER MOM HAD BACK SURGERY HOW DIFFFICULT IT CAN BE TO FIND THINGS TO DRINK AND EAT WHILE SITTING DAY AND NIGHT AT A HOSPITAL.. SO REST UP WHILE YOU CAN AND KEEP THE FAITH....

Karma....What would life be without it? 250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!
Thanks Marge, I appreciate the encouragement. I have actually been really good about getting everything in - it seems when things go wiggy in my life I tend to get even more organized. I guess it's my defense mechanism. But I got very lucky with the cafeteria at the hospital - it actually had good, healthy food! And they have a great salad/deli bar that you can get a small amount and pay for only that! Most of my meals were only $1. Of course, I spent most of my money on water - I was buying 2 bottles of water a day.
Let's just say that I do not want to spend that much time in a hospital in a long time, despite the great cafeteria - I'm hoping dad is alert and out of ICU by the time I go back down Friday and that he gets out soon.
