Hello to all
Hi everyone I am new to the board and have just began the the journey to surgery. I have been surfing through this site and for one I am so happy to not be alone in the deep end of the BMI pool. you who have either had or in the process of having the surgery. thank you thank you thank you for being an inspiration
Hi Diana and Welcome!
You are definitely not alone - when I started this journey my BMI was 60 and I weighed 371 pounds - 9 months later I weight 205 and my BMI is definitely better! Come back often and chat (although it does tend to be quiet around here on weekends) - this is a great place to receive support.
Hugs
Pam
Thank you for the welcome I apreciate it. today seeing you who answered my board was nice I am in the process of quiting smoking and it is hard but my doctor said 3 months with out a cigerette or no surgery so 15 1/2 hours down 2256 to go hahah no it is not that bad because I know it something I have to do along with GB so I can be around for my new husband and my kids.
Welcome. I am in the process of waiting for my insurance approval. I plan on having the DS. My appointment with my surgeon is July 2. Hopefully I will have my approval in hand when I go to that so I can get my surgery date.
Let me know if you want any information on the DS. I have done a ton of research or drop on over to the DS board.
In the meantime, I love lurking and sometimes posting on this board because I fit in so well with a BMI of 60 or so. Jo
Looking to see you more. Jo
thank I have looked in to DS and actually want it> unfortunatley I have the wonderful position of being on an HMO and My group doctor does not authorize DS I told him that I had read that DS is better for the Super Obese which is what I am but he said the benifits do not fit the risks in his humble opion. which with an HMO his word goes. But good for you I hope all goes well on July 2nd. I am going to my first Nutrion class today I am so excited also I am working on my first hurdle I have not had a cigerette in 56 hours and doing ok
