Gym is Open (Thursday)
Hi, Lori. I've been on vacation w/out computer access, so have been exercising but unable to post my info in the gym. I'm happy to be back to my normal routine - lifted weights for upper and lower body at lunch today, and will do 50-60 minutes of cardio tonight after work.
Thanks for keeping the gym open -

If sitting in a hot car crying burns calories I worked hard today. If sitting at home crying works stomach muscles or something, I'm set. Otherwise, I don't expect to exercise today. My nervous breakdown got in the way
Its not fair how some people cry at the drop of a hat and other people (lucky people) lock up their emotions and cry once a decade.

Dunny, I'm not a crier, and it's not always the healthiest way to go, trust me.
As for exercise, we'll go to the rec center and I will do armbike as usual. My upper back is a bit sore from the intensive armbike I did last night. I haven't really felt like doing anything at all today other than lolling.

I cry easily, wear my emotions on my sleeve, blah blah. I hate it, but its how I've always been. Overly-sensitive. And when I feel it coming on I am so hard on myself, it just makes it worse. Terrible.
I checked, the nearest opti-fast clinic was in Austin, which is far from me. How often did you have to check in? And about how much did it cost? I'll probably just stick to what the doc prescribed, so I don't undermine his authority or something.
I did my Optifast plan through my HMO's bariatric program, so I was able to go to the HMO once a week at first, then every two weeks. My HMO also covered the cost of the Optifast products because they deemed it medically necessary . Optifast is pretty expensive, but check with your PCP to see if he or she has any thoughts about Optifast. I don't think your bariatric doc will care how you lose the pre-op weight (he can't be that big of a control freak?
)
I'm overly sensitive, I'm just not a crier. If you catch me at the right time, it's way too easy to hurt my feelings, so I know what you mean.

I tell ya, I am having a hard time staying motivated with my exercising. I keep doing it, but I finally mixed it up today and had a blast! I pulled out one of my aerobics tapes and did 50 minutes of high impact aerobics - I forgot how much I enjoy aerobics! I was also shocked to find I could do the high impact portion on the tape - 4 months ago when I was using the tape regularly I could barely do the low impact portion! What a difference a few months make.
I am definitely going to add a class to my workout schedule a couple of days a week. They offer free classes at the university so I think I might take advantage of that. One is a dance class and I would love to do that! Hopefully this will get me motivated.
I also did my 20 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes of stretching.
