New Victory for Me (Swimming)

My apartment/condo over looks the complex swimming pool.  Last year I sat inside and look down at the pool but just felt to fat to be seen in public let alone in a swimming suit.  I was afraid of the looks and stares I would get.   Well today I bought a suit and went swimming.  I am only seven weeks out from surgery and down from a size 26/28 to a 22/24, but having this surgery has given me a since of accomplishment.  I still cared what people think but my wanting to exercise and take care of myself was more important to me then what other people thought. Sorry for gushing, but I had to share!

That is so awesome!!! I am so happy for you!! This will be my first year swimming also for a LONG time lol. I cant wait!! Now if the weather would just cooperate *sigh*. Keep up the amazing work!! Your doing great!! Felicia =0)

Nanci, I'm so excited for you!  This first year is going to give you so many opportunities to do things you haven't done for a very long time.  Swimming is so good for you!  I've lost 150 lbs and still don't look good in a swimming suit, but, I don't care, I go anyway! Lori

That is super awesome!  We went to our apartment pool and sauna last night too.  I don't mind going swimming but I have to wear long swim shorts and a swim tank top, instead of a suit.  Not that brave! I also prefer to go at night because fewer kids - we are fortunate that our pool is open 24hrs.   Congratulations!

Dear  Nanci, Swimming is one of my favorite exercises, so way to go.  You might want to check out the website www.swimsuitsforall.com   I went through sizes pretty quickly and they have some really good clearance prices.  Some suits are regular prices, but I've gotten most of mine on sale for less than $30.   Keep up the good work!
