Dr. suggestions in GA/TN area for BMI over 70

Good morning everyone,  I hope someone might have a suggestion in regards to a doctor in Georgia or Tennessee that might do surgery on patients with a BMI over 70. My husband has reached the decision to consult with a doctor about doing this surgery, his BMI is 76. He does have high blood pressure and high cholestrol but other than that he is pretty healthy. Any suggestions that ya'll might have I would greatly appreciate it. Have a great day!

Dr. Dennis Smith in Marietta I know someone who weighs close to 600 lbs. She has consulted with his office and was advised that she would need to lose 50 lbs. But I believe the reason is because she has numerous health issues. She has been approved for the DS but has not followed thru with other requirement made by Dr. Smith. He is an excellent Doctor

Hello!  Just wanted to assist even if it is a little.  My BMI is 77.3.  Dr Duncan and their surgens do larposcopic.  You might want to call their office and get some info... 404.881.8020  Good Luck!

If you have Medicare that will play a part in surgeon choice.  I know Dr. Duncan's group takes it.  He did my surgery and I was only out of pocket $100 for the nutritionist consult, but I consider it money well spent. Hugs, Janie
