Gym is Open (Monday)
I was all set to go workout this morning, and boy did I need it. I haven't worked out since Wednesday and I can really feel it when I don't - my muscles get sore. BUT, just as I was about to leave I heard water leaking. I went into my kitchen and water was pouring out of the area under my sink and my sinks are filled completely and overflowing. That was at 10am... it is now 2pm and maintenance is still here trying to fix it! It's getting kind of irritating - I can't get into my kitchen at all.
So much for working out - maybe I'll take a walk tonight.
What a way to spend a holiday! Putting a positive spin on things, at least you were home when the leak sprung itself -- imagine coming home and finding that you now live in a swimming pool.
We took our dogs to Washington Park yesterday (we're trying to get them to enjoy car rides and learn to socialize a bit better). I walked about halfway around a small pond, and found I had to sit often because my knees were sore. I felt a bit discouraged about that, but I guess it's better than not being able to walk at all. Once I'm cleared to resume treadmill, I can build up my knee muscles again. In the meantime, maybe I can take some short walks during the day.
I checked out a book at the library that lists a bunch of fun drives and hikes. I think our next adventure will be a drive up to Mt. Evans (so I can say I "climbed" a 14er!
) I had no idea Colorado had 53 "14ers". Have you climbed them all?

I was pretty happy that it happened just before I was to head to the gym - the worst part was my disposal was backed up and food came pouring out along with the water. It was a lovely mess!
Last night it happened again, after it was suppose to have been fixed! they had the call the roto rooter guy and it is finally working correctly! What a day!
I have actually never hiked a 14'er - I tried Pikes Peak years ago and almost died at the switchbacks! That was my last try, but I really want to do Mt. Bierstadt this year. It's suppose to be a good starter peak and it will help me for our backpacking trip (which starts at 8000 feet and ends at 11,500 so while it's not a 14'er it will still be a challenge!) You might get up a 14'er before I do!

My husband and I made it to the park to walk this morning, and then I started having stomach/intestine pain so I went home and went to sleep. Maybe tomorrow.

I am feeling better now, thanks. Ever since I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago, it happens now and again, very unpredictable.
