Since I'm sitting here, trying to do my morning regimen of water and vitamins, i thought I would start my very first "Gym is Open" post and give Lori a break :-) I actually took a break yesterday and ended up shopping, not working out. Although, some might say that is a workout as well I bought some supplies for my hiking trips, mostly first aid and emergency stuff - after my hike thursday I thought I should be better prepared for when i'm in the wilderness, so REI and I became very close yesterday! And they took all my money, but it was worth it. I feel much better prepared for my treks! Today I am taking all my new stuff and heading to the mountains - found a new trail that I'm dieing to try. It's about 5 miles and 500 foot elevation gain, so it should be a good challenge. What did you do to move this weekend?

Hey, PJ! We took a lovely drive yesterday in my sibling's new Toyota Highlander Hybrid (I want one!).  We went up Hwy 285 because she wanted to show me the house her friend used to live in up in the depths of Conifer.  We ended up not being able to find it.   We then continued up 285 almost to Fairplay, when we saw a sign that said we could get to Georgetown.  Georgetown!  Aha!  We can loop back and return home via Boulder.  Turns out we were on Guanella Pass Road, a scenic byway.  It was plenty scenic, and also closed about halfway up because there was a bunch of snow blocking the road.  So, we had to turn around and go back down.  I did see some of your hiking buddies while we were up there (see my profile for photo). No armbike yesterday, I'm going to the rec center today.  I didn't go yesterday and missed it.  I also need to do a couple of errands, if I can manage to avoid the Colfax Marathon folks. I was just reading about Guanella Pass, it's how you get to Bierstadt (I've been looking at hiking it since it's suppose to be the easiest 14'er to hike!) We just can't get away from the snow, can we I'm still trying to hike close to the front range so I can avoid those snow covered trails! Sounds like you guys had fun though, I love going for a drive in the mountains (although did you see that Aspen ga**** the $4 mark this weekend? Ugh. I was going to visit some friends who live in the area and they said gas is 3.75 and higher throughout the entire region!) Good for you for keeping up with your exercise! When do you find out if you can add the treadmill? Can you imagine how nice and easy it will be without your old friend blobby?

Took the day off yesterday but Saturday did 65 minutes of cardio (45 minute hi/lo aerobics class and 20 minute chi ball class).

Jesus is so good to me;  I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
