Depressed and wanna give up
Your example is exactly what made me start loving my surgeon. First thing he said to me when I asked about having to lose before surgery was "If you could lose weight on your own you wouldn't be here". THAT was sooooooooo true.
Do you just have to show a loss? I know its another "diet" but give Atkins a try. If you do induction for 2 weeks to the letter you will lose for sure.
Best of luck to you!!

I am having a De-ja-vue. Same thing,,different city.. If you have to just show as loss..one thing you might wanna try is 2 weeks before your appoint.. cut out all sodas and sugar products (definite a weight loss), drink plenty of water (more weight loss) and do a liquid diet for 2 days before your appointment. Now that is not a lot. Your motive is to show a weight loss and to get your surgery approved. Most surgeons/doctors just want you to show a weight loss..not so much the amount but some. If the surgery is that important to you as mines was to me,, you can do this for 2 weeks and have a lifetime of good health and less weight which comes with the surgery. Can you do it? I know you can.. Keep us informed. good luck.
I can imagine how depressed and frustrated you must be feeling. Please hang in there and keep on trying, sweetie! Dieting is hard, even after surgery. But I KNOW you can do it! I did want to say one other thing. I think it is real important for your emotional health to be right before you have weight loss surgery. Having a RNY will not cure your depression. In fact, it may make it worse. You won't have food as a comfort anymore and for me, that fact alone made me depressed somewhat after surgery. If you go into the process already struggling with depression and have the surgery without addressing it, it could be a very difficult time for you. Anyway, hang in there and I will be praying for you! Hugs, Tracy
Jesus is so good to me; I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
