MONDAY WEIGH IN!
Hi Kix -
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Mother's Day. I spend the morning cooking, while my husband cleaned house. Both sides of the family came over for a Mother's Day brunch. We had a really nice weekend.
I had a great weight loss week 5 more pounds gone forever! Only 12 pounds to reach the goal set for my one year anniversary (July 17th) of 175 pounds gone!
Here are my numbers -
Beginning weight-374
Surgery weight-359
Last week- 216 This week-211
Total weight loss - 163lb gone forever!
Hi, Jan!
I was sad to see Griffith Park ablaze the other day. I used to live up by the Greek Theater, so when I heard they were evacuating people as far down as Los Feliz Blvd, it startled me. When I lived in LA, it seemed like the fires were always in Malibu, or somewhere in the Valley, or over by Ontario. We never were hit by fire -- we did get torrential rains a couple of times, but I lived at the top of the hill, so it wasn't too bad.
The Catalina fire is scary, too. It must be extremely crispy in L.A. right now, which is kind of early for it to be so dry. I hope your neighborhood isn't too dried out.
Your weight loss is also amazing -- imagine being 12 lbs away from goal! I'm amazed that I'm within 60 lbs of my goal. When I get as close to my goal as you are to yours, you will probably be able to hear me yodel all the way from Denver!

Kix - I wish I was that close to goal, but that's just the goal I have set before my one year surgery date - I still have 60-70 to go to get to my bottom line goal.
It's very crispy here in So Cal, we've only had 3 inches of rain this year, they say anything under 10 is considered desert.
The Catalina fire was bad and still isn't contained. We felt the Griffith Park Fire was blown out of proportion by the LA Mayor, he's a TV hog.. 800 Acres burned, and yes it was close to homes, and the Zoo, but over 4500 acres burned on Catalina, and a home and building were lost.
We're at the base of the Foothills, and it is very dry, it's going to be a scary year this year.
Hiya, Kix. Thanks for starting off the Monday weigh in! Here's my numbers for the week -
Beginning weight: 396
Surgery weight: 386
Last week: 208.8
Today: 205.9
This past week, I stuck with lower calories and carbs, increased protein level, increased fluid consumption, and my exercise routine. (Eating 2000 calories per day, 50% from good carbs, 25% from protein, 25% from fat; exercise: cardio x5 @ 40 minutes per session, lifting weights x2.) It's still working for me, and I'm still working it! I'm headin' for Onderland
