MONDAY WEIGH IN!

Greetings, all! I hope everyone had a nice weekend, and for those of you with moms or who are moms, that your Mothers' Day was spectacular. Marge asked if I'd make sure the Monday weigh-in was posted, and I'm happy to do so, although she has mighty big shoes for me to fill!  Of course, Marge is getting skinnier every week, so I'm not even sure she has big shoes anymore!   I'm opening the scales tonight because I have a follow-up appointment at 8 AM tomorrow with the plastic surgeon to see how my leg is progressing post-Blobbectomy.  I won't post a weight now since I'll get weighed at the appointment.  I'll post when I get home. Anyway, let's hop up on the scales!  How'd you do this week?  Any struggles with food or emotions or both?  Are you learning to live life by how you feel and not by some darn number on the scale?  Is your activity level increasing?  Am I asking too many stupid questions to answer on a Monday morning? Kix I am still working on learning to live life by how I feel and not by the numbers on the scale. It is so hard. That scale can make or break my day. It is so hard. No you are not asking too many questions. I lost 2 lbs last week. I have to get focused. I am grazing too much at work. At home I do great but at work I sit at my desk and nibble on skins, wheat crackers, and pepperoni slices all day. I tried to stop by not bringing them. Then I go buy crackers and peanut butter snacks out of the vending machine. I know grazing is my worse enemy. I am fighting it hard. Any suggestion for the grazing. I want to be at least 250 by time I go home in July. That is 28 lbs in six weeks. I know it is possible, but not if I don't control my grazing and get focused. Sorry, I just needed to let it out. Maybe instead of eating crackers you can try some jerky.   know it is hard right now but just keep on working on it. Work on changing what your eating. Lorraine

Have you thought about boiling some shrimp and taking it in a ziploc bag?  You could munch on that when the munchie**** and it's not high calorie (good source of protein, too). It's kind of expensive, but I buy the big bags at Costco.  It costs around $35, but even at six shrimp per ziploc bag, I get a lot of eating out of one big bag. Also, instead of the peanut butter snacks, perhaps peanut butter itself?  A friend of mine with grazing issues is able to portion out almonds and eat them as a snack.  I don't know how she does it -- if I allowed any almonds, cashews, or peanuts in my food plan, I'd eat 'em like a Doberman. I did horribly this week. My eating was out of control and I exercised only twice all week. It showed in my weight loss. Pray for me to do better. I’m trying to loose 60 more lbs by my 6 months. Aggressive, but possible... Highest Weight: 377.7 Surgery Weight: 375-377 Last Week: 306.0 This Week: 304.2 Loss: 1.8 Total Loss: 73.5 lbs

Well, I can think of about 85 places in Atlanta that I could eat and ruin my weight loss progress!  In fact, I'm jonesing for a slaw dog and a frosted orange from the Varsity.  Yum, yum!   Keep on the path, and you'll get those 60 lbs off in no time.  I have days where all I can do is just go one meal at a time.  Other days, not a problem at all. Sounds like everyone is battling the nibble monster! I had the same problem this weekend - it was the first time since surgery that this has been such a battle! I'm glad I didn't buy any peanut butter because I think I would of sat there and eaten the whole thing. (peanut butter is like chocolate for me - it is a HUGE temptation!) Of course, my period starts this week so that could be part of it. But I'm with the rest of you, it can be overwhelming! I had another good week weight wise, it helped that I worked out tons. that certainly seems to make a difference. surgery weight: 371 last week's weight: 221 this week's weight: 217 4 more pounds! My goal was 220 for my nieces graduation (which is 10 days away) and I am now past goal! Yeah! I even bought new clothes that fit so I can show off my new body to the whole family. Most of them haven't seen me, so their reaction should be interesting

It's really funny, PJ, I haven't really been affected badly by the nibble monster, but let me tell you, when we were at Costco on Saturday, I wanted to eat about six Costco dogs even though I was full from eating delicious samples of cheese.  Not only that, I thought about those darn hot dogs all afternoon.  Weird how some foods can trigger it, isn't it? 217!  That's awesome!  Congrats on making it below goal for your niece's graduation.  Do be sure to let us know how agog everyone is when they see the new, hot PJ!
