Went to the foot doctor yesterday to have her check on what was wrong with my heel. She thinks I have Plantar Fasciitis. She taped my foot up and when I walked out of the examination room I instantly felt a huge difference. The doctor said if the taping up of my foot helped then she highly recommended getting some heel inserts for my shoes. I feel so much better that I can move around better now. The pain had gotten so intense just shopping or doing normal things was difficult. As for the insurance problem I called the guy handling my appeal he seemed nice over the phone and asured me if there was anything else they needed he would personally call me. My nieghbor who works for bcbs who has been trying to help talked to the surgeons nurse who told him out of all the cases they have never had such a hard time getting an approval like mine. So I am really trying to keep thinking positive but every now and then I reflect on how hard this whole thing is and the difficulty and thinking am I getting signals not to do this because of the difficult time I have had. My husband said stuff like this happens and not to read more into. I feel if I dont do the surgery my future looks bleak but if and when I do the surgery my future looks full of life and excitment.                                                                Annie

I had plantar fascitis--man, did that hurt!  The heel inserts helped me.  And you may be able to use it to help with insurance, as I haven't had trouble with it since I had surgery.  Maybe it's weight related, too? Wishing you the best.

Thanks Linda, Yes my heel problem I am positive it is weight related. You have a very good idea about using this to add to my appeal with the insurance. I am going to call the foot doctor today and ask her to type up something about my heel problem. I go to her regularly for diabetic foot care which basically is cutting my toe nails which is difficult for me to do myself.                                                                    Annie

Hi Julie, I was happy to hear from you. The doctor said to get inserts and remove the everything out of my shoes but just use the sole inserts. I live in my tennis shoes and wear them every chance I get. I do agree with you that the difficulty I am having with the insurance is grueling but yes in the end I will become more knowledgble and stronger for staying with it and not giving up. Our accountant who I respect so much says that because it has not happend yet just means I am not ready yet but that it will happen when the time is right. On a good note here Lee is on vacation for the next 7 days and we hope to enjoy lots of activitys together. Hope to paint the bedroom sometime and spend some time on our boat. We are taking my mother out for lunch today to a place called Red Robin great food but oh my so much. I( know mom and I cant eat a whole entree so we will split one.                                                                Annie
