Karma....What would life be without it? 250lbs gone! 410/160... Life's sweet!
That's an amazing loss for the first month! You are definitely not losing slow, quite the opposite. You also have to remember that you have just gone through major surgery, your body is healing and it's getting use to you not eating as much as you did before. It just isn't going to react the way you think!
My first month I lost 28 pounds the first week and then nothing for 5 weeks, not one pound! If I hadn't felt so yucky I think it would of bothered me more, but my body just would not budge. It wasn't until I was 3 months out and started to exercise regularly that I have lost consistently. Just give your body the time to catch up and don't worry about it - it all works out in the long run and you'll be feeling so good that the scale becomes less important.
And I know what you mean about it being hard! A friend of mine had told me the first month was hard and they weren't kidding, it was the most difficult part of the surgery for me. It does get better and the food choices become much more fun. I try to cook a lot to keep things interesting and I'm having a blast trying all types of fun recipes. I'm not going to say it's always easy because it isn't, but my quality of life makes up for any difficulties.
Just hang in there, it does get better. And you can always come here if you need support - this place is terrific!
Even at 520 the 46 lbs. is excellent. You will see how quickly you will lose the first 100, so be proud of yourself. You are having head hunger and it is so normal It is hard, but take this time to retrain your thinking. I started out at 450 lbs and I am 10 months out and have lost 150 lbs. I have been on a 2 month stall, but I do know that it will pick up again. Keep going and following the pouch rules and you will be losing faster than you can count.
Keep up the good work.

This is harder than people think! I'm 2 years out and still think so. I was so hoping WLS would take away my ever present desire for food. It didn't. I will tell you that my surgeon said that most people lose 100 lbs in the 1st six months. I lost 75. I'm 2 years out and have a total of 150 lbs lost. Nothing since year one was over. I'm still considered obese. But, I'm a whole heck of a lot healthier.
Hang in there and stay with this board. We are really good for each other here.
