Gym Is Open (Wednesday)
I dragged my butt out of bed and did 32 minutes on the elliptical, then my weight lifting tape. I started the next level for weights and boy do I feel it today. In a good way, of course.
I'm having a hard time getting up and doing my usual workout with this temp job - I'm ready for it to be done Friday so I can take a break and try to catch up with my life. Too much has happened lately and I just haven't had the chance to process it. The one thing that is keeping me going is exercise - that gives me the boost I need to make it day to day.
Keep it up Lorraine! You know it can't be wrong!
Do you have a nutritionist you can meet with through your surgery center? Now that you are a year out, it might be good to meet with a professional and have them review your diet. I've done it a couple of times. I think it helps. I eat very healthy meals, where I go wrong is the stuff I eat that I know better, like the cinammon roll this morning. I know a nutritionist would have advised me against that, but, I did it any way....

Still no rec center for me. I had to go to my HMO to get a form, and I'm not allowed to drive while the drain is in, so I had to use the accessible van service. A five minute transaction took two hours, counting the time waiting for the van both ways.
All the walking I did at the HMO today made my leg drain a bit more today (which is why I'm not supposed to exercise). I think I'm going to be one of those folks who has a drain in for weeks, as I appear to be one of the "juicy" ones.
I shouldn't complain, though, at least I got out of the house!

Actually, the drain is only a nuisance because the doctor won't let me exercise, drive or shower. Sink baths are boring. I will say it's a lot easier to give oneself a sink bath at 269 lbs than it was at 530 lbs!
I have my follow-up appointment tomorrow, so if he decides to keep the drain in (and I hope he does, I can't imagine how big a seroma I'd have without it), I'll plead my case for resuming more activities.
My pain level is surprisingly low. I haven't had what I would consider anything higher than a 2 on the pain scale. I get little stabby pains every so often, but nothing outrageous. I think actual plastic surgery is way more painful than what I had (he just cut Blobby off -- no real reconstructive work was done).
