Gym Is Open (Weekend)
Hi Lori!!!
I have to say, all of you who do water aerobics are amazingly brave! I can't imagine being seen in a swimsuit - I've gotten over some of my body issues but that one I can't quite conquer! Kudos to you!
I've decided to go for a hike every weekend to get ready for a big backpacking trip a group of us will be taking later this summer. Today I hit a new trail that I loved! It was 5 miles round trip and I was rewarded with an absolutely beautiful 360 view of the area - mountains on one side, plains on the other. It was a pretty easy incline until we hit the last 1/4 mile and then it became a straight up, rock climbing, mud slide mess. But I made it, even if I did get covered in mud (this seems to be the theme lately - last week was even worse, with snow and mud to really mess me up!)
I'm feeling it tonight - my calves are so sore!
I've already got my hike planned out for next weekend - it's so nice being outside!
Good for you PJ! I love being outside too. I took a 3.5 mile walk today along the canal in my neighborhood. The ducks were swimming around. I can't wait until the baby ducks come again. Won't be long now. I am planning on hiking this summer too. First time in years!
One thing abou****er aerobics, everyone looks bad in a bathing suit! You only stand out if you look good!
Lori
Saturday - ran errands all day, so that was something. Unfortunately, not enough to work off the onion rings I ate for lunch.
Sunday - 60 minute hi/lo aerobics class (Christie Taylor's "Still Jumping" DVD) then I hit the floor for some lower body toning ("Buns of Steel" - the original one with the guy Greg Smithy). OMG, that tape is a KILLER - after almost two years of trying, I still cannot do all the reps! Nothing against standing leg work, but floor work just seems so much more targeted and difficult to me.

Jesus is so good to me; I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
Yep. Stuff on your hands and knees, stuff on your elbows and knees. The ones that do me in are the sidelying leg lifts to work your hips. He has you doing about 150 of them in different positions - laying on your side with lega straight, on your side with legs in front/body at 90 degrees, on side with legs bent sort of in a chair pose. Ouch!!!
