Gym Is Open (Monday)
Hi guys!
I'm back from Atlanta. I got a lot of exercise in while I was there. But, didn't do too well on my eating. I was surrounded by conference food the whole time and ate it. It is good to be home where I have better healthier choices. I must say though that I enjoyed all the food, I'm just sure it hasn't helped my weight loss. I haven't tried weighing yet...
Today, I'm going to the gym after work. Couldn't get out of bed this morning.

Hi Lori,
Welcome back form Atlanta. I did not have a good food weekend either. Auntie flo is visiting and I ate salt, salt, salt all weekend. I stepped on the scale this morning and I am carrying about 9 pounds of water weight. No wonder my knees and ankles were killing me after my workout last night. Anyway, today I feel so bloated and puffy that my clothes are really tight. I am water loading to try to flush out some of the salt and bloating.
Anyway today is "weight training day" so I am planning to do a light 20 minute cardio class (I have a bunch of 20 minute mini cardio workouts so I am not sure which one I will be doing) followed by 60 minutes of weights (either "Get Ripped to the Core" or "Get Ripped: Slim and Lean").
Jesus is so good to me; I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!
Guess water loading didn't work for me either... I drank about 120 oz of water yesterday and didn't have to go the bathroom that much more than usual. This morning, I was up another pound and a half from yesterday morning's weight. Good grief... what we women have to go through!

I'm going through hot flash mania. Now that I'm off my breast cancer drug, Tamoxifen, I also thought I'd go off my progesterone too as I was taking it to control the severe hot flashes that the Tamoxifen caused. Also, my WLS doctor wanted me off of it as it is given to patients who need to gain weight as it increases their appetites. Anyway, I've been off these 2 drugs for a month now and I am hot flashing about 20 times a day, including the night sweats which is messing with my sleep. Has my appetite went down, no!

Weekend was okay - didn't do much in terms of exercise as I felt a bit icky most of the time. Also pulled something in my lower back and it just hurt like hell!
Got back on the treadmill today though and I could tell I hadn't been on it for the past 3 days. *sigh* But I got in 30 minutes of walking and I'm glad I didn't blow it off. Developing new habits are hard to do sometimes and it's always too easy to say I'll do it tomorrow .... I do NOT want to get in that habit again becauce tomorrow turns into multiple days missed until it's forgotten all together.
We went to the rec center a bit late this evening. My knees started getting sore this afternoon (which means a storm has moved in, my knees are more accurate at predicting the weather than the weather folks), so I only did 10 minutes of treadmill. I upped my armbike to 30 minutes, and my thumb is sore now! Go figure.
I'm suffering the aftereffects of eating peas too quickly tonight at dinner. I was miserable enough that my pouch horked up a few of them, which made enough room for it to relax. Horking is hard work, I'm exhausted. Peas usually sit pretty well, so all I can figure is that I ate too fast, or I was full after eating my small bit of steak and didn't realize it in time.
