Certain hormones are stored in fat tissue. When you lose a lot of weight quickly, those stored hormones are released into your system. In turn, that affects the regularity of your cycle. The first 6-8 months after my surgery, I often have 2 periods a month. But as the weight loss slows down, the release of "extra" hormones slows down, and things should get back to normal. But it's annoying while it's going on! Hope this info is helpful - Kellie
Morning Everyone! I did good this week. Kept my protein intake between 70-100 g. I worked out, doing both cardio and weight training. I think I am going to stop the weight training for about 6 weeks. I will stick to strictly cardio. Im aftraid that the weight training is not causing my numbers to be as high. My results for the week are below.
Beginning Weight. 377.7 Surgery Weight: 377-375 Last Week: 318.8 This Week: 314.4 Loss: - 4.4 (Not too bad... even though I want to get back to my -7 lbs/week) Total Loss: 62.6 My 3 months appointment with my doctor is Wednesday, even though my 3 months isnt until April 30/ May 1. I want to have lost the reamining 14.4 lbs by then. Wish me luck and favor. Have a good week everyone!

Just a quick comment on strength training - although it may cause your weight loss not to be as slow because you are building muscle tissue, it will be helpful in the long run because having a higher muscle mass increases your metabolism. (It takes more calories to maintain muscle mass than to maintain fatty tissue.) So by continuing your strength training and building more muscle, you actually increase your metabolism, thereby increasing the number of calories your body needs every day.
It can be frustrating in the short-term because your weight loss may be a bit slower, but in the longer run, you may be better off if you continue with the strength training. Plus, strength training helps reshape and redefine your body, so you'll look better faster! Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do - you'll make the right choice for yourself and your body!
