Just had the scare of my life. Since going in to feed all my fur kids this morning I have been trying to get my squirrel Balicks outside we are trying to release him but it isnt working out to well. He comes home to sleep. Anyway so I get the idea of bringing his huge habitat outside. Thank goodness hubby put it on a cart with wheels. So here I am rolling this thing through the house and out onto the deck with my squirrel buddie sitting on my shoulders. He jumps on the cage then back to me then goes back into the house. Finally I get him to stay out and close the door but I can watch him through our ofice windows. I heard my cat outside went to go see what he wanted he dashes inside with a baby flying squirrel in his mouth. I about freaked thinking it was Balicks but it wasent. unfortunatly the flying squirrel was dead. Very active morning here.                                                             Annie

Hi, Annie: I'm not a fan of squirrels, but it sounds like you helped your squirrel get well and are now trying to get him off the Annie Scholarship Program and back to squirreldom.  Good for you!  I don't blame him for not wanting to leave, he probably knows a good thing when he sees it.  His own condo and all the food he can eat -- it's just like having a teenager! Squirrels don't appear to hibernate here in Colorado.  We have several morbidly obese squirrels in our neighborhood, two of whom do Marge-like dances in our yard when the dogs are outside.  I think the squirrels love getting our doxie all spun up!  Of course, they scamper up the fence before the doxie can get to them. The saddest squirrel story I have occurred in Stone Mountain, GA.  I was at an intersection and happened to see two squirrels.  One was roadkill, and the other was standing next to the roadkill, as if it was saying, "Get up, you can do it.  We need to go now."    As I said, I'm not a fan of squirrels, but seeing that made me cry all the way back to Clifton Road in Atlanta. Hi Kix, My little buddie does have it really good here we are the nut supplie. My husband saved Balicks from our cat last summer. Balicks did not have his eyes open and was a hairless cold baby squirrel. Thanks to the internet I learned how to raise a beutiful squirrel. Anyway I hope to work on a web site about my upcomming surgery and post lots of pics including my squirrel. I got home from the chiropractor and had a message from GI surgery saying they were getting ready to submitt everything to my insurance but were missing a component OH MY GOD. So first thing tomorrow I will be calling again.                                                                     Annie
