Mere’s Posts
I just came over here to see if the house was still up in the same neighborhood. I miss all of the fun we used to have. I made so many life long friends. We had so many laughs, shed a few tears, but, most of all, we supported each other like I've never seen before. I wish we could all come back here for a virtual reunion. We're long overdue! ð?'?ð?'?

Man I haven't been on in ages!!! It is so many new faces that I almost feel strange posting here, but I was a bit homesick and had to stop by to say hi. I hope everyone is still doing well. As for me, life is good. I have no complaints, still maintaining with a slight gain of about 11 lbs after 5 years, but I am determined to get those lbs. off! My BAF baby is now a 3 yr. old little woman! Other than that, not much more to report. I miss all the laughs and hours I used to spend on BAF. I will have to make it a point to stop by more often. Take Care!

I would date someone who had surgery for 2 reasons 1. He would have the same battle scars as myself so it wouldn't be no shame in my game! 2. Between the two of us, we wouldn't have to spend more than $15 for a 5 course meal at a restaurant...lol!

"It would be nice if others felt the same way about tucking .."
Girrrrl, you know are a hot mess!!! HILLARIOUS and I so agree!
Now for you Trina, girl look I was like that at first about my arms and knees but I have since realized that it is what it is. These are my battle scars and I display them proudly because they are testimony to where I have been and how far I have come and I will continue on that way, in good taste, might I add. Unless of course, I get a hold to 3 extra dollars then, of course, under the knife I go!!!

Hey Y'all,
It's been a good while since I posted. I peek in sometimes and miss you guys so much, but y'all are still my family and that is something that won't change no matter how grown I get! I was gonna post yesterday but the day got away from me. Yesterday marked 5 WHOLE YEARS since I was reborn. I went in not knowing what to expect, only having faith that my best days were ahead of me. Thankfully, I was correct! This has been a rollercoaster of a ride and I wouldn't have had it any other way!
At my highest weight I was 280, on surgery day I was 267. Today I teeter between 137 and 144. At my lowest I was 131. I can attest to this being both the best and hardest decision of my life and 5 years out, I can see that this was no easy fix. This takes conscious effort 365 days a year! I am so thankful for still being a success story even now. Yesterday, I went to a funeral and saw people who hadn't seen me in 5 years and still got my "oohs" and "ahs" and, y'all it still feels SOOOOO good! I love it and am thankful to God for giving me the courage to make such a decision.
Well, as always, I want to encourage all those beginning this journey and even some who are struggling in the midst of it! After 5 years, the honeymoon ain't over!!! I am still living and loving this journey....
Y'all take care!!!!!

I am definitely feeling everything you said! I always say to my friend "you are either going to grow or you're going to die" it's up to you to make the choice. We always get complacent in who we are and the moment we get a couple of pats on the back and somebody defines us as "good" than we go on permanent pause and think we're done forever and we wake up one day only to find what was once was good, even great is now mediocre at best! Even dwarfs were growing at some point, right??? Let me stop!!! I can go on with this subject all day........

Ok,
I checked my calendar and looks like I am available that day so you're in luck!!!! Looks like you have 23 days to come up with something that will get me going........AND.....GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Dalexis,
I usually stay in lurk mode but, what can I say, this one brought me out. A friend and I were having a similar conversation the other day and I agree it goes both ways! I know guys who brag about their ladies "keying" their cars and cutting up their clothes as if these are gestures of love! While women like myself who just aim to love and be loved are quickly passed over because my no drama policy is not in their handbooks. I also have many women in my world who are always looking for their "Nino Brown" so to speak. I am of the belief that it comes down to three key things....maturity, self-worth, and positive reference points. Sometimes a man or woman continues to scrape the bottom of the barrel because doing so requires nothing of them as far as growth. When you really find a person that exhibits stellar qualities that should make you want call yourself to a "higher" standard and I maintain the belief that many of us are emotionally lazy and don't want to commit to the "work" it takes to nurture a healthy relationship. We continue to whine about not being able to find people of good quality, however when those "good" people are presented to us we usually find a way to sabotage the relationship so that our song never has to change. That's just my take on the whole thing.
My motto is and always will be, getting an equally good man and woman in the right place at the right time with the right minds is nothing short of a miracle.
