Any tips? What's the thing that most people don't talk about post op?

Hi im new to the site... I haven't had my surgery yet but I am a licensed cosmetologist. I would strongly advise against getting a relaxer until your hormones and everything stable out. I really believe that you would experience bad side effects from it mainly hair breakage. I would focus on protein and moisture treatments until you know exactly how your hair is going to react to the surgery.

Topic: RE: Is anyone else not telling their extended family about your surgery plans?

My mother lives with me and she hasn't been told. I plan to let her know once I have a surgery date. May a couple days before :-) My family prevented me from doing this 4 years ago and I will not have that happen again.

Congratulations!  I am just in the beginning stages of starting this journey...I hope.  I have my first informational meeting in a couple weeks but i wanted to know honestly about the procedure.  I know it is a mind and life style change as well but is there anything you would change?

I am curvy in all the right place and now have a waist since dropping 50lbs on my own. I too am shooting for 180-190 after the surgery and figure that my curves will still be in place.

I'm not telling mine either,  I've told one of my brothers and mentioned the thought to another one but i'm keeping this to myself.  Close friends know too,
