Glad it's working out for you. The sleeve is a wonderful tool. Welcome to the losers bench.

I didn't tell some of my siblings or my husbands siblings. My family is very opinionated as is his. Its no one's business. Feel comfortable telling who you'd like to know. I believe its a need to know basis and some of the family just don't need to know. I've prepared my speech when folks ask how am I losing weight. I just plan on telling them that I've been watching what I eat, weighing portions, and ramped up exercise. In essence, that is what I'm doing just with a oittle help. Hope it goes well for you.

Thank you. I am a ball of nerves the closer I get to accomplishing my pre op goals. I still need to lose 29 lbs to even see if I qualify for insurance purposes. I needed to lose 56lbs and it's been 8 months now and I have 29 to go. I exercise and I eat well. My dietician reads my food journal every month. I feel like this isn't going to happen for me. I'm going to a P.A. next week to see if she can see something we aren't.

I never had a shape either. Just big boobs and a wide behind. Just round and short that's me! lol

Staff and attendees had a great celebration at our recent 2013 ObesityHelp Conference.  It is so much fun to be with other pre-op and post op WLS'ers.

Bariatric surgeons regularly hold patient reunions for their patients.  If your bariatric surgeon has an upcoming Patient Reunion, please reply to this post with the surgeon's name, date and details so other patients of your surgeon can be aware of the upcoming get-together.

Thanks!!

Jenamir I feel amazing! Honestly I dont feel like I had surgery. I had very little pain since the beginning and I am two weeks out there is NO PAIN. I was able to drink regular since about the third day. I dont feel hunger....a lot of it is in my head. (head hunger) lol aka me just being greedy. I actually feel like I am able to eat too much. I will ask my doctor when I go back to him but again, I have NO REGRETS.

I'm pleased that I chose the RNY as well because I had well over a hundred pounds to shed, and my doctor and I determined this would be my best option.  I'm excited for you as you move closer to realizing your weight loss goals.  So much will change as a result of shedding the pounds, both good and not so good.  But the good out weights the latter by far.

Keep us posted on your journey.

Keep it moving!

Hi JJ and thanks for your reply.

I'm going with the RNY also. I had considered the sleeve but at my current weight I need to lose as much as possible as quickly as possible. Congratulations on your weight loss. I can't wait until I can see the results of all this hard work. It will certainly be more fun having the problem of clothes being too big than searching for a store that caters to my size and when I can walk down the street or anywhere and have people stare at me for reasons other than my layers upon layers of fat. smiley

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it so much!

Congrats Tiffany on your successful procedure.  You're on your way to better health!  I remember the head hunger oh too well.  At four plus years out, I still deal with it at times.  The trick to being successful over it is a regular and continuous schedule of eating and drinking, and the ability to recognize when you really may be hungry.  Which is very rare.  I still stick with the portions and regiment of my eating today from where I was at six months out.  I usually keep it at 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of food.  Starting at 30 minutes after I wake, and eating small portions about every 2-1/2 to 3 hours.  It doesn't take much, but when I hit that 3 hour mark, I have to get something in me!  Between eating about 5 meals at this rate and drinking protein, there's no time for hunger.  I'm glad that I've not given into going back to larger portions too.  It really has helped me stay with my program and keep the weight off.

Get your water, vits and protein in on the regular.  If you can't do anything else but walk, please do and increase your distance everyday or so.  It will make all the difference in aiding the weight to come off and stay off!

Keep it moving!!
