Excess skin removal from hips, legs and thighs...APPROVED!!!!!!
I've got until the end of January to work out the kink of getting another surgeon on board. I got a letter this week from the original surgeon, saying that he's retiring December 31st. Tried to convince him to make me me his absolute last pateint...no luck.
If I can't find another surgeon, I'll be living with the skin. This was the eighth time I've attempted this, and I absolutely cannot go through this again, if this doesn't work out.

Hello all. I am trying to revise from a failed RNY to a DS. I have started the process with a very reputable surgeon, but his surgeon's fee is way more than I can afford. In fact, I was told that it could range from $5,000-12,000 out of pocket because he chooses to bill through a 3rd party. Also, I will have even more out of pocket expenses because of him being out of network (which is weird because he is in network). At any rate, he is a top notch surgeon and, while he is worthy of his wages, I cannot afford to pay that kind of money out of pocket let alone up front.
So, now I am leaning towards a reputable surgeon in New Jersey. I have a phone consultation with him later on this month and was told that I would have to pay $250 to cover the cost of meal replacement shakes before surgery. I am at am impasse and feel somewhat defeated, even though that defeat could be anxiety. At any rate, I must now get in contact with my PCP so that I can begin the six months of supervised diet. This will give me time to get myself together to push through.

MsSexxc74, congratulations on your new journey. How are you doing? I am still in the early stages of my revision and would like to know what I can expect. I see you had Distal RNY in 2000. Is that like the BPD? I had a surgeon suggest that, but I would rather have the DS because of the long term results.

Lady Amaretto, I am definitely keeping the faith and I am doing what is best for me. People really don't understand how bad obesity is; so just imagine being, in my case, morbidly obese. People around me say they will exercise with me and help me so that I won't have to have another surgery, but if that hasn't happened in the 6 years since I had RNY, then why would it happen now?
