Heaven is where you'll be when you're okay right where you are. (Borrowed from a friend)
I use to be on the BAF regularly around 2007-2009 and it was poppin! There were regular posters friendships formed and we even got together once or twice. My constant participation was curtailed because I was at a job that was feverishly against non-work related computer time and I was still in the dark ages when it came to handheld technology that allowed me to surf from my phone. I have been through so much when it comes to my weight loss and it really saddens me that I am almost forced to share on the RNY forum because that is where the ppl are.
Not blaming or shaming just mentioning that this forum use to be soooo much better. Where are all my people???!!!

I usually lurk on the rny or Florida forums. It is cool that there is a black folk forum My name is Karla. l'm 31 and live in Central Florida. I have 3 sons ages 12, 7, and 5. I am recently divorced and almost finished with grad school. I've been considering RNY and going through the pre-op procedures since March(2013). Yep, I'm pretty much doing a major overhaul of my life. So far I've enjoyed all of the forums on OH. I'm sure this one will be just as great, if not better. Nice to meet you all!! ~~Karla

Hi Charmaine,
Just send me a friend request to Janice Toms Joye so I can add you to the group.

Hey Miss Sunshine,
What is your name on FB. You have to be on my friends list so I can invite you to the BAF FB group.
Take care,
JJ
I have...because I am prone to depression. One thing that's also not well known and not understood with WLS patients, when you're losing weight, as your body burns the excess fat stores, homones are released from the fat, and could be a cause for moodiness.
I think that happens with anything major we put our bodies through, be it surgery or excess stress.
