Hi Jazzygirl,
I would love to communicate with you if possible. I am very interested in getting the gastic sleeve in Mexico too, as I also have to go the self-pay route. I lived in San Diego for over five years (but that was a decade ago), so I'm familiar with Tijuana. But I have so many questions about what to expect pre and post procedure, and I worry how long I would need to be "out" on leave since I am very new to my job and don't want to have any issues with them. Is it unrealistic to expect to be back at work in a week? (I teach at a college, so no heavy lifting, but I do have to engage with people quite a bit.)
Congrats on your surgery!

Hi Willie,
Congrats on your original weight loss. Most people experience a 10 to 20% bounce up after the initial loss, so nothing out of the ordinary here.
Regarding calories, everyone needs are different. I'm a guy and eat way more than many of the posters but most of them are woman and I'd expect them to eat fewer calories. Your surgery type versus other people's will also influence how many calories you need in maintenance mode.
Lastly, I don't think it matters what anyone's goal weight is. Your body gravitates to a natural point of equilibrium.
Good luck with your journey!
Thank you for your candid words. I will take them under advisement.

Hi Babe !!! ((( Yes you have friends ))) please reach out personally I will accept nd help U every way I can hugs
I am going to be scheduled for the same and there isn't a lot of information. I can't find much on results. I'm really torn.
I'm 10 years postop and I still keep Syntrax Nectar protein on hand. It's available at Vitamin Shoppe. I'm not so specific on brands of supplements, I usually just stock up when my local drug store has a BOGO sale.
Greetings and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. WLS is a change for both you and your immediate family, some will embrace the new you....some won't.
My situation was the latter, my husband (now divorced) was not comfortable with the new me. I was getting smaller, eating healthier, my self confidence improved and he just couldn't handle it. Hopefully, your significant other will be on the same page, and if not...will be on the same page after a good heart to heart.
Wishing you much success!
Whereas I agree with the others that posted, I do want to add that WLS is a process, a new healthy way of eating and exercise. It's important for both you and your spouse
to be on the same page, with goals for a lifetime change. The process is beautiful when your spouse is supportive. Good luck to you on a successful surgery and continued happiness with your spouse.
Ditto to Kyzze post! Praying for an uneventful surgery for you. Take care and keep us posted.
