Wow.I appreciate your post so much because I see that this truly will be a lifelong maintenance. You have done an amazing job, so don't beat yourself up. I would love to be 178 and in a 10, but I'm not. However, I am committed to trucking along until I get there. Remember to be kind to yourself and stay in the fight. You will be victorious.

Topic: Missed my actual surgiversary day

Hello All:

I can't believe another year has come and gone and I'm still working on getting to my weight loss goal of 138lbs.  Once I hit that it will be a 204lb loss since my RNY.  Sometimes I want to give up, I do that allot which is why I haven't met my goal yet, but then I realize that if I give up I'm gonna be back at 342 where I started or higher.  That gets me back on track for awhile.  So, I am yo yo dieting and exercising and it has gotten me to my current weight of 173.6 lbs.

I took phen-phen over the holiday it worked the first day but not the second so I don't want to get back on those.  I tried the back-on-track system but I had headaches everyday.  I'm always trying to find something that will work for me.  I'm still in size 8 as long as they are stretch and into some 10's which is very disheartening for me since I swore I would not buy a bigger size.

I am going to continue to work on getting to my goal and hopefully the sabotage will decrease and the willpower will increase.  So far this week I've been good and trying not to overindulge and workout 6 days a week.  Good luck all!

Forgot to include my surgery date 1/15/04.

Liad

What is head hunger?  Is it a short term thing with long term consequences or the reverse.  How do you know when it ends or if it may repeat?  Can you prevent it before it begins.

Thank You,

Heather

I am still here from back in the day.  I view the message boards infrequently as I have found certain aspects of the site to have changed and are not quite as user friendly.

Thank You,

Heather

I miss the support and fun we used to have in the early 2000's.  My surgerversary was 12/23/04.  Any old school folks still online?

Hi....

I caught a case of head hunger bad and gained 35 lbs.  I haven't been able to take it off, but I have been at the same weight for at least 6 years.

Has your doc approved sublingual tablets for under your tongue or vitamin patches?  THey also have a nasal spray called nascobal.

I didn't really see results until I was 8 weeks out.  You will have lots of water retention and build up from your surgery still in your body. I looked bloated and people kept asking when I was going to look like I was losing.  I think your weight loss and freedom from diabetes meds is great!

Wow Lia, your results are inspiring, congratulations!!  WOW!!  You look fantastic!

I'm also in MD, can I ask the name of your tummy tuck Dr.?  I'm 8 years out and pretty ready to get my tummy done.

Thanks.

Topic: RE: Weight loss without revision????

Hey, Thanks for that reminder- it is doable..  I had my greatest success with a food and activity journal tracking: a low carb/high protein diet, and lots of water & excercise.

I'm 8 yrs out and I started regaining after my knees gave out 5 years ago.    My knees are still jacked up, but I'm trying to get off the excess weight.  I recently started going to a Cognative Behavior group & I joined the local gym; I just love Zumba and yoga.

"Back to Basics"- love it.  Thanks, and keep pressing forward.
