Topic: HOLD MY FEET TO THE FIRE! ACCOUNTABILITY EVERY WEEK
ACCOUNTABILITY MISSION: NO MERCY AND NO EXCUSES
TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH AND BE ACCOUNTABLE:
Are you positive in your vision of your own success or do you need convincing to keep going. Early on it is pretty easy for most post ops. For no ops and for those of us farther our or who get no honeymoon it is tough from day one.
How do you handle the emotional ups and downs? How do you treatt yourself when you make a mistake? Do you speak kindly to yourself when you are feeling negative? Do you talk the positive talk even when you are not believing it in the moment?
Focus on your desired outcome. Let this guide your actions. Let this guide your motions. Each time the negative self talk sets in, counter it with repeated positive self talk. We believe what we hear repeatedly.
One day at a time; or one hour; or one minute; or a non stop battle with each random thought. Sometimes we don't really believe in possibilities or in ourselves. This is when we must LIVE AS THOUGH WE BELIEVE IT.
Visualize what you want and how you want to live. Make this vision part of your daily life. Create the reality you want and focus on living it. Do this where weight loss and good health are concerned. Do this in all areas of your life.
SUCCESS COMES FROM FOCUS ON THE DESIRED OUTCOME. Those who succeed over a lifetime are focused on using each and every available resource to achieve their desired outcome. This drives their thougt process. When they see a tool or an obstacle, it appears to them as either a risk or an oportunity and it is treated accordingly.
MINUTE BY MINUTE NOTICE THE RISKS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUR HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD AND A LIFETIME AT A HEALTHY WEIGHT. Adjust your focus and use these to your advantage. You will for see what you need as you remain focused on your desired outcome.

Topic: I made it through my Birthday
Hi everyone, well I made it through my birthday without going overboard I did eat a little piece of cake with no side effects but I am not going to pu**** because I don't want to eat something and then get dumping syndrome away from home that would be embarrassing. I'm not going to beat myself up for eating it I will I'm not going to say never do it again but I'm going to make better choices. because I'm not going backwards I've come to far to blow it now and I see how easy it can be done, so to my new friends that ere on the loser's bench also please pray for me and lift me up.

Topic: Hyperpigmentation and keloids
I'm preppng for the first of many plastic surgeries to get rid of all the loose skin I have.
African-Americans are more prone to hyperpigmentation(wounds leave a dark scar) and keloids, and I unfortunately deal with both.
Does anyone on this board have any advice on how to prevent/reduce dark scars or keloids that form with incisions ?
I have a big dark line on my abdomen from my DS. I had to get steroid shots in it to get the keloids to flatten out, and fade creams are doing nothing to reduce the dark color of the scar.

Topic: RE: What do you wish your were told before you had gastric bypass surgery but were not?
Make sure you learn to eat the RIGHT way. Watch portion, the way your foods are cooked I.e. grilled vs fried, TAKE your VITAMINS, exercise, get your blood levels checked often (mine every 6 months) check with your doctor . The best advise I can give is to enjoy the ride it won't be easy but it will be worth it you will meet new friends and loose some current friends. Just stay knowledgable about your procedure and listen to your body for warnings.
People tell you who they are all you have to do is LISTEN!!
