I also have locs and at about 8 months they started thinning a little and I was afraid I would have to start over but then it just started growing like a weed and getting thick again. Just make sure your loctician is not pulling too hard and make sure you are getting enough protein in. Good luck

I'm from CT but been to Milwaukee many times on business way back when.  The share button linking this site to the world killed BAF.  We got way too personal back in the day for those threads to show up elsewhere.  Still, we can support each other anywhere.

i lost a lot of hair but my hair was thinning before the surgery, i am also hypothyroid but my levels were fine, my hair is slowly growing back but i still have a very thin spot in the stop of my head! i just wear weaves, braids anything to cover the thinness, i have also increased the biotin and added selenium, i was also told to keep my hair moisturized, use castor oil, i had the DS also. i agree with keeping your vits up but you may not be able to avoid losing your hair, it varies by individual.

Yes, you are SO right!. It is such a mind game. U have to have and keep a focus relationship with food. I was on a honey mood period for 4 years. Pretty much ate in moderation what I wanted etc. My iron was extremely low. I had a blood transfusion in may. Since May I have gained 20 pounds....I am thinking wth!. But I am back focused, and I will get theses 20 pounds off.

Thanks luv.  Just giving back a bit of what the old heads gave me.  Its scary how easily the old behaviors creep back in even after a few years of getting it right.

Been ages but I do remember you.  I'm wishing the same but we can never go back.  Still, we can make this what we want it to be if enough of us really want this forum.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey thanks for posting. I love your recommendations.  Keeping the weight off is such a challenge. Getting rid of old behaviors are becoming harder. But your post motivates me! Keep encouraging.

It has been awhile, since I have stopped by to post. However, I do lurk every once in awhile, I will re introduce myself. My name is Wendy. 5 years ago, I had the gastric by pass. I do not know HOW I COULD have survived the surgery, without this forum. I gained many friends all across the United States, and I still keep up with them. Oh How I Wish this forum was the same. Happy New Years to U!
