Weekly Mini-Goal Challenge for short term goals
Focusing on one week at a time, when the big picture seems too overwhelming. Small changes can bring on big results!!
Choose one or more things you want to work on for just this week. Don't set it too high or unreachable!!
Please, make sure your week works for you. Sun to Sat or Mon to Sun, whatever is YOUR week!
You can reach your main goal if you break it into small actionable steps. It could be as easy as 1-2-3!
1) Choose something you know you can do easily.
2) Add more difficult tasks to your plan.
3) These small steps will get you started, motivated & help build routine for long term success!!
Please feel free to post your goals for this week. This is perfect for those of us needing to re-focus and/or get back on track.
Please feel free to check in daily as often as you like! Good luck!!
You are so welcome, and yes I do care about the outcomes of us who choose wls as an option for weight control. I've only been a part of all of this life of wls a little over four years, and it is daunting the failures from these procedures. I try to offer a few things; to all who inquire, about practices, techniques and tips that have helped me get to goal and maintain day to day.
I will send a friend request to you, and thanks.
JJ
I really appreciate your response. You do not know me but the length of your response shows you really care. It was motivating. I am a therapist so I know I need to uncover the root cause to this; something I would tell my patients to do. I have made a section in my journal to explore this. Thank you so much for you insight.
I feel your pain Lady. I recommend doing whatever it takes to stop the weight gain right now. Because that weight can comes back faster than you will re-lose it. Take it from me.
Since October 2012 I have re-lost 31 pounds. I have had many ups and downs.
This January I said not more fooling around. I started back weighing myself everyday, eating protein 1st, eliminating processed foods as much as possible slowly but surely and same for carbs and sugar. Yes it is hard but I am doing it one day at a time. I have also started back seeking support. Faithfully sitting in on at least one telephone support group each month. There are a lot of Back on Track Programs out there too including a Back on Track Group here for free. Many of them cost money but they are effective if you are ready.
I have been working on the why's of why I am sabotaging myself and working on emotional eating too. The surgery did not fix our heads and actions. I also keep track of every morsel I put in my mouth. I use myfitnesspal.com to track my calories and exercise and I use them for support too.
Out of all the things I just said the ONE thing that I think helps me the MOST is MAKING myself step on the scale each and every day no matter what I ate. I need to see the gains so I can put a stop on binges. It is the ONE thing that I will remember when I go to eat the next bad bite. I have been doing this since March 11 and since then I have lost 11 pounds. I was 368 and now down to 357. I am in no hurry as long as I am trending down.
My goal this year is to get under 300 pounds no matter what. I had went all the way up to 388 and have been yo-yoing since 2010. But as I write this I know that is over for me!! I am going down baby. I don't care how many times I fall down, I am picking myself right back up and NEVER EVER giving up!! That is my 2nd best time is NEVER GIVE UP and know you can do it. But stop gaining right now because if you don't you will be sorry. Once you do that then just find you way and get help if you need it. Don't be afraid to be honest with YOU and others who can help you.
HELLO!!!! STILL LOOKING GREAT I SEE!!! One day I am going to do it too!! I am still enjoying life but I want get under 300 pounds and then I will worry about the rest. Seeing you are still here and doing your thing and keeping that weight off is very inspiring too. I am going to reconnect and get under 300 pounds this year!! Thanks for sharing and inspiration!! Yes WE are all WORTH IT!! Keep up the good work!
Hi Lady Bug!! Remember me? I am back and like you still struggling but NEVER giving up!! We can do this!! WAVING!! So nice seeing a familiar face!! On day at a time and one pound at a time!
