Are there any old timers still in the forum?
Hey all, it's my first time popping back in here in years! Had my surgery in 2005, lost 250lbs, had a baby, life got busy, changed careers, lost my moms in 2012 and then in 2017, I found myself 50lbs heavier. Found I had a bunch of deficiencies too, and I swear it was making me head hungry. Once I started back on what I needed nutritionally, went back to basics and did my protein, and some walking 3days a week, 20lbs down in 5 weeks. Just incorporated my little one into the exercise routine this week. I find the support is definitely needed. Good to see everyone, old and new.
I am really late to this party, but I have just returned to OH. I was on the forum back in 2003 when I was looking into having WLS and then for a couple of years while I was losing weight. There were some changes on the board and I just sort of got lost in the shuffle. I have lost my weight and kept it off (180 lbs... which is crazy to me because I usually just say "over 100 lbs". Today I really realized how MUCH it is - it seems a lifetime ago).
I am happy to be a resource to those who need some support and part of my promise on this journey was that I wanted to "give back" when I was done. Someone encouraged me to move forward and have this surgery and I would love to help someone else find their way to better health and a life not consumed with thinking about our body, losing weight and all the other negative feelings that being overweight carries.
I'm 56 married and 1 22 yr old daughter. I live in California.
I'll find a before picture somewhere and post that on my profile too. It got lost when the site changed.
Hi Tee,
Check your settings here -
You can add your before and after in your profile, let me know if you need help. LOL I so understand about the before photo. I could not for the life of me find one of me as I ran when someone pulled the camera out. I finally found one and it's been copied and pasted so many times it's of very poor quality LOL
I have sent you a PM (private message)

I had surgery in 5/2000. I checked out OH back then but was never a member. After surgery I lost almost 180 lbs. Over the last 17 years I have regained, lost and regained 75 lbs back. I came to the site to find support and ideas in taking it off and keeping it off this time. I hope I'll be able to contribute a thought or two of useful advise to the group.
