band over bypass
Hi everyone, it's been a very long time since I've posted in this forum but I've always gotten good honest replies so I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with getting a lap band over their gastric bypass. I am almost 6 years out from having a lap RNY and I am slowly starting to regain the weight. I watch my portion sizes and exercise however I can't stop the weight gain. A year and a half ago a new surgeon in the area did a EGD and found that my pouch was enlarged and he did a ROSE procedure which was total failure. He doesn't perform the band over bypass but I'm going to search for a doctor that will perform it. I don't want a revision as I have heard that procedure is very risky. If anyone can offer any advice or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi scdiva31, you really should visit the revision board and post the question over there. I know the BOB (band over bypass) is not a good surgery and it is not very successful, the same with EGD and that big failure the Rose.
I just had a revision from my 7 year old RNY to the DS. I went with DS because it offers me the most long term success of 91-94% and you eat like a normal person. It is a very difficult surgery though. But before you go and keep wasting your time on those pie in the sky fixes you may want to talk to some revision people and get some advice from people that know a lot about it.
