Hey BAF;)
Hi all, it's been years since I've been here. I first started coming to Baf in 2004 and I had RnY in May 2005. Now 7 1/2 years out, I don't regret it at all. I started at my highest weight of 348lbs and at surgery was 325lbs. In the next year dropped 105lbs and then the yo-yo began. Over the next 2 year I gained 40lbs, stabilized for 2 years, loss a little but finally over the next 2 years gained a little over half my weight back. It has been a crazy journey with alot of my weight gain coming from not using my tool properly and just giving up. The good news is that this spring I went back to the basics. Protien first, increased my water, excercise ect... and i am now 10lbs from my lowest weight since having the surgery. I hope I can encourage everyone but especially the post-ops that may have given up, that it is never too late to work your tool. Im taking it one day at a time and hope to finally qualify for my panniculectomy next year. P.s. I know alot of the older post ops r on fb. Can someone invite me, I would love to reconnect.
Thanks for the reminder. We are on a diet for life. The basics, especially protein first will keep us from regain. Loose sight of the basics and we are just like dieters who go back to old ways. Congrats on getting back on track.
