dstgirl-

I agree, but we must remember, not *one* of the people on TJMS is a journalist.  As Tom Joyner is so fond of saying' I;m just a DJ", and that he is.  J. Anthony Brown is a comedian, and Sybil Wilkes, although she reads the headlines as "news" (to my mind, much of it is simply fodder for gossip), is not a journalist. She is a radio personality.

That being the case, there's not a lot of fact-checking for accuracy going on around there, at least, not as thorough as a true journalist would be....or should be.

I know...that was my career for over 20 years, before lupus and fibromyalgia forced me into  "medical retirement", i.e. disability.

With all that was and is going on in Triple J's life, marital issues, a possible indictment, in addition to carrying out his duties as a Congressman, I can understand him not following the DS rules, taking his vites and getting his protein in,  and I'll lay odds that he's TPN  with  IV vitamins and minerals right now, up at Mayo Clinic. Quite frankly, he is probably in such poor nutritional shape, that he might have been very close to starving to death. As for the depression, when you don't feed your body, you don't feed your brain, and depression and a whole host of psychological issues can be brought on by poor nutrition, which alters body chemistry.  Granted,  he had quite a few heavy life issues going on, but starvation can make you psychotic!

I'm just sayin',,,,

I'm not TPN, but I've got more than a few deficiencies going on right now myself,  because guess what?  I didn't take care of myself. I'm anemic for the first time in my life.,  I have two more weeks of iron infusions to go, and three more weeks of multivitamin infusions, plus I'm killing the calcium to get my parathyroids to shut up and stop overproducing PTH. They kick in to leach calcium from your bones when you're not takiing in enough calcium. I have been diagnosed with osteopenia. and I have deficiencies of A, and K in addition to the iron and calcium, my prealbumin tanked (20.3 and the lowest normal is 20.0!)  Zinc is low, too.  Six months prior to having my labs drawn, I was watching my Mom's health decline.  She got her Wings on April 18th.  Had she lived four more days, she would have been 93.  The funeral was April 23rd, the day after her birthday.  Of course, believing as I do, it was her birthday...of her new life in Heaven

I said all that to say this:  life happens, and with a major thing like Mom's passing, I expected my labs to be bad...but not this bad.  It's a wake up call for me, in terms of how quickly things can go south if you don't do what you're supposed to do.  Yes, we were all forewarned, at least if our particular programs were worth anything, but sometimes, major life events have a way of knocking you off course.

So...Triple J and I  have a lot in common, in that sense.
