BBQ  -  BAR B QUE  -  BARBEQUE   -   HOW EVER YOU SPELL THE WORD, IT CAN WORK PRE OP AND POST OP FOR VIRTUALLY ALL BUT THOSE OF US ON PUREE OR LIQUIDS.

Protein first and that's what's on the grill.  Totally awesome isn't it!  HOWEVER, leave the sugar coated sauces alone and enjoy nicely grilled meats with good seasonings instead.

-  Bring your stash of MrsDash if you need to (rhyme totally unintended there, lol.
-  Skip the mayo based salads with all the starch like potato, macaroni, and the sugar loaded cold slaw.  Look for the greener items or the veggie type salads.
-  Bring a wl friendly dish everyone will love.  I blanch till tender then dice the stalks of cauliflower for no-tato salad.  Same potato salad recipe with light mayo and no potatos.  Everywhere I've brought it folks tear it up.  Kids love it too just don't tell them its all veg.
-  Same for deserts.  A pudding/jello/cool whip trifle all sugar free and served extra cold after popping it in the freezer for a bit can work for everybody.

We can eat, drink, and enjoy during this process.  We will struggle to let go of our dependence on the need to eat what we agree accustomed to eating.  Let's declare this our personal independence day week from old summer outing habits.  Time to create new habits of fun, games, lesser focus on foods, and better summer fun menus for our lifetime.

Relax and enjoy the holiday!

Glad you like it.  There are a lot of low carb recipies out there that are perfect for post ops as we reach the stage where we can eat the ingredients.  I like www.lowcarbfriends.com  .  Its not a bariatric site but the recipies are sugar free, no sugar added, and very very limited in refined carbs.

Thanks much.  We need to be straight with each other about the ups and more importantly the downs.  Support is more than cheering each other on about pounds lost.  IMO any way.
